Last evening my car was saved by a new, clean looking Audi TT. Someone tossed a sytrofoam container bomb of used chicken wings and sauce onto the Audi and ran out of ammo before passing my car two spots later.
Love this town. |

Last night somebody flung over-cooked rice all over my FR-S.
What are the chances that some drunk kid walking by had rice ready to fling? |

Wow that's awful. Has anyone else ever had this sort of vandalism on cars other than the FR-S/BRZ?

Just ask an S2000 owner how long they had their car before their top was cut and their seats went missing.
The paranoia is part of the reason I don't miss owning that car. |

To the OP, I say fold down the rear seats and nap in the trunk until someone f***s with it, then jump out and give them a beat-down!

Just the opposite. I have a deep seated love for the S2k but like the Integra Type R I can't bring myself to own again a car that always had me wondering if it (or the things in it) were going to be there when I returned. 3 people I knew with S2k's had their seats disappear and tops cut. On just about every S2k forum there's threads about "oh noes, my seats were stolen!" The worst part is, the cost of replacing them from the factory is in the neighborhood of $8-10k and totals out most cars once the top and whatever other damage is assessed.
If the "paranoia factor" reaches the same level with this car, I will sell it as well. |

WTF? Why were the S2000 seats such a popular target?

Cuz Honda tuners Yo!
Seriously, that's why. They fit in civics and integras and they are outstanding seats. Since removing them from an S2k takes all of 30 seconds a black market popped up over night. Steal s2k seats, put them on craigslist for $1k and bam, easy thieving money. There's a million ricer boi's out there right now searching Craigslist for S2k seats for their "JDM civic yO". One of the most popular things to an S2k owner on the S2k forum boards is the seat locks. They are replacement bolts for the seats that are like wheel locks so it's damn difficult to steal the seats. This way when the thief attempts to steal your seats all you have to fix is the cut top and and may get them reupholstered if they cut the leather. Much much cheaper and doesn't leave you with a salvage title. |
