Enkei Tenjins 17x9 +45...confused
Hello everyone!
I've been driving a '16 Ultramarine FR-S for a little over a year now and have decided to start doing some light mods. I scored some Enkei Tenjins (needs a bit of work, but that's okay..I want to repaint them gold) but offset is +45. I've searched the forums all week, but I have some confusion according to all the posts. I'm currently on the stock suspension, so if I run my 17x9 +45 wheels...what else do I need? Camber bolts? Because I read some posts saying the offset will rub my springs, I bought 3mm spacers. Was this the right move? Lastly, I also purchased TRD lowering springs. Will this help clear my shocks or make things worse? Thanks! If I missed something in the stickies, I do apologize, but like I said, there are many variables to every individual's setup that makes finding a clear answer a little difficult. -Daniel |

I had Enkei Kojins in 17x9 +45 on stock diameter springs with arguably the perfectly sized tire: 245/40. I also had to use the 3mm spacers up front to make them fit.
It will technically work, as I ran this setup for over a year. But just be aware that you will not be able to dial in any useful negative camber up front for example with the camber bolts that you mentioned. You would need to run aftermarket tophats and adjust the camber from that instead, so that you aren't moving the tire closer to the spring perch. So, I'm not sure what your driving goals are. If you are just interested in cruising and some light spirited driving, this will be fine. However, in my case after several spirited drives, I started noticing the outside edge of my front tires was wearing much quicker than the rest. This is because with 0 degrees of camber, the outer edge is what makes up the primary contact patch during hard cornering. Obviously handling is affected as well and is not as ideal as -2 degrees of camber (or more) up front would be. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
