Just noticed this exact same noise in my 2013 limited brz... I only have 13000 kms on it... Definitely sounds like the fan on that side... but thats where the cabin air filter is... so I'm gonna check that first...

Anyone fix it yet?

Link to blower motor unit?

Is there a link/thread to disassembling the blower unit and putting it back together? I'm pretty sure I got some large debris stuck in the system, making a loud cyclical scratching noise. Really want to clean it out.

I made a how-to to change the bearings. Just so you know, I ended up screwing the motor more. If you only want to check for debris, it's really easy to remove the motor assembly. 3x 8mm nut under the glove box. This won't break the motor but disassembling it may break it more
