Highly recommend m105 from dealer wash. All the swirls drove me crazy right after I bought the car (doesn't help that my car is Firestorm!)

I had a DA and used m205 with results that weren't spectacular - I stepped to an aggressive pad on the DA with m105. Results were ok but still some swirls.

So, I jumped in head first lol

I bought a one way polisher and used the wool pad with m105. It's messy and a decent amount of work but, that will yield proper results! Of course it is required to be followed by m205 (as you said in your post). I would not recommend going to any rougher of a cut then this combo.

I followed with the synthetic sealant and then traditional carnuba wax and she shines!

Point is, do your research and jump right in - yes, you can mess up your paint if your not careful but it's worth noting that I wasn't satisfied until I did everything I could to get my paint where I wanted it to be. Also depends what your goals are - I tend to be an obnoxious basket case about clean cars!

m105 --> m205 --> sealant --> final touches with a carnuba wax... that's by the book with easy, inexpensive, off the shelf stuff. Good job. I commend you

My tools are almost here for my upcoming detailing process on my used brz. Do I touch up the rock chips first before doing the polishing and buffing process?

I think so as you'd use the polish + buff to smooth out the touch up paint.

Wash, clay, alcohol, touch up, polish, buff, wax iirc

Hoping to correct some of the damage I've done over the years, not having a covered parking spot blows if you care what your car looks like. Got the M105 & gave the roof a pass with M205 and some carnuba, I definitely need the heavier compound and I need to work it longer to get results, but all improvement is good improvement.

Yup! No garage here! So I'll see how this process goes doing all the detailing process, at least there is covered parking at my apartment.

Someone ask me how dirty your car would be to use waterless car wash (not you finch). I sent him this picture just now after I did half the hood. DD car was foamed on Sunday, then that freak light shower on Monday, leaving this "light" dirt on the car.
