No no no no I didn't mean to imply you guys wanted turbos. I simply meant that after all the dumb car sites promising people a turbo in 2018 the biggest change being discussed is a head unit. I find it amusing.

I figured it out, the new HU will have a turbo button to increase computer speed. That is the new turbo the car is getting

Has there been any news on when dealers are taking orders for the tS? Or has anybody already done so at a dealership?

Is this worth it to trade-in... hmm...

No but it's been discussed many times that because the tS is a limited edition model dealerships will not have the ability to create a sold order for a tS. Dealerships actually earn the unit based on how many BRZ's they've sold.

The way it works is the tS gets distributed to every region. There are like 5 major Regions. Then each region will be allocated a number of units for different "Zones." Within these "Zones" are Districts, and each district is made up of a group of individual dealerships. Obviously, everything is based on geographic proximity.

Anyways, to get one early or as soon as they arrive you have to check if your dealership is open to having them reserved. Reservations are optional for the dealerships so even if a dealership is getting 4 or 5 of them, they are not required to make them available for reservations.

My advice I've always been telling people ever since the HyperBlue BRZ came out, talk to the larger dealerships first. The biggest dealerships in California for example got a maximum of 5 BRZ's for the 500 unit Series.HyperBlue (I use this as an example because the tS also has a 500-unit count).

Good luck, and let me know if you have any more questions!

Edit:

Timing for the tS allocation release dates and inventory available dates:

SOA stated availability at the first quarter of 2018 = Jan 1, 2018 - March 31, 2018

Dealerships will usually know their future inventory up to a month in a half in advance (varies but that's usually the case). If the tS were to arrive in the first week of January for instance, the dealerships should see it in their "incoming cars pipeline" in early-mid November.

You guys are lucky because a few of us here work at dealerships, so we will report when the tS hits our allocation pipeline so you guys can get prepared to hunt one down at the dealerships.

depending on the brand of tire 225's could be the same widths as 215s or vice-versa. This is such a marginal change that I am kind of annoyed by your comment.

it is possible that the tire compound made a bigger difference, or overall wheel weight (rim and rubber) but not ~10~ give or take in tire section....

That's a good point. I had Pilot Super Sports on 20.8 lbs wheels.

I'm gonna have to make some calls next week. The 7" screen means it's a gen2 device, and I am really, really surprised the press release says it'll have car play.
