I wonder if this could be added to the older models with just a firmware update...

For the car's power and weight the tire width is perfectly fine. I would admit however, that for the more performance oriented crew it would be nice to have a factory option for wider tires.

As a reminder, when the S2000 came out it was equipped with 205/225 width tires front/rear. SAME for the original Acura NSX as well. Both cars with a higher performance level than the BRZ.

the only problem looks wise i had when the car first came out were the proportions of how thin the tires were in comparison to how wide the the base was when viewed from directly behind. i totally understand the reason for fitting less wide tires, just the visual perspective bugged me.

To me the biggest news here is the AV system with Carplay. I'll gladly buy one next year and have it installed in my '17 86.

I went to 18 inch 225's and the steering wheel feel felt close to an STI especially at speeds below 25 mph.

I went back to the stock 215's because I thought I'd be selling my car, but I realized that for daily driving the 215's is what brings out the car's playful characteristic and even though it looks a bit out of proportion I'd take the 215's over wider tires for daily driving.

oh jeez. 2018 Limited gets the sweet screen. That is really nice. That is one thing the car needs and should have gotten.

what i really want is a 7" screen + HarmonKardon option. That would be 100% perfect car. I would have paid $1200 extra for that as an option.

My experience with my 2017 radio and screen is much better than people complained about though. I am used to higher end audio at home and in cars, but the stock if you make all settings 0 with no augmentation or correction, and feed through a paid pandora account, the audio really is not bad. The system is slow though, but I have gotten used to it. I have an iphone 6 plugged into it. It seems as if it was designed for an iphone6.

The stock system is fine imo, but the slowness does get annoying sometimes

The audio quality actually isn't that bad, especially if the connection is over USB with higher fidelity music.

But the system itself is awful. Pretty laggy at times and I hate the resistive screen.

LOL After all the clickbait sites and blogs screaming "We have confirmed inside information from high up that a 300HP turbo will be released for 2018" the big news is a marginally better HU!

Oh and some settings for the lights.

That is funny, I actually like resistive screens and dislike capacitive. More accurate on a resistive screen. I hate cell phones bc they have capacitive screens and use math and AI to determine what you are trying to push.

It is laggy at times. I am so enjoying the pandora app and my paid pandora account. It is really cool. I have a huge music collection mostly at cd quality on my computer, but I have yet to bring it into the car because pandora does thinking for me. I had older cars with high end audio in them just before this car, I am in tech shock with pandora and apps even on this slower computer.

I will try a usb stick and some .wav files today.

I think the brz favors certain forms of music. It does not do notably well with symphonic stuff, it does quite well with electronic music, ebm, synthpop, and oldies and folk. Overall, I am enjoying the 1500 dollars I saved in not upgrading it yet. I might put that to a full spare and tire set this winter instead. First time I kept audio stock (or paid for factory upgrade) since 1991 owning and driving cars.

Oh and some settings for the lights.

the auto- blinker crap is something I detest. Also, the wipers+ lights on is rather dumb but it can save a fine in the USA. However, dayrunning lights normally negate the fine as cops just want some lights on, they arent picky as most people in my country are kind of hooked on phonics.

I know some of us have discussed this before here but depending on quality of that HU, I might buy it (unless there are other better options for the price or cheaper).
