So here's a weird thing that happened. I shopped around for loans at credit unions. Patelco quoted me 2.44%. So I used that with the Finance Dept. at Subaru when buying the car. They matched the rate. The loan was through Chase.
A couple of weeks later, I get the paperwork. Login to Chase and set up payments. Scheduled the payment of some extra principal to pay the 4 year loan down faster. A few days go by, and Subaru Finance sends me a letter in the mail that says they dropped my loan rate from 2.49% to 1.9%. Hooray! But weird, right? |

Current offer is 1.9% for 48, so I'm not surprised they did that. Saves you some money though!

Good to know it's for 48 months because Subaru's website doesn't specify the duration of the loan. PenFed offers 0.9% for 36 months but you have to go through their "TrueCar" program.

The dealer told me the 1.9% offer was for 24 months. Who knows if it was actually for 48 and they were yanking my chain.

On the other hand, one of my local dealers has 3 Series.Yellows sitting in their lot for quite some time. By the time MY18 comes around, they'll probably be desperate to move them. How much should I low ball them? |

LOL that'd be a smoking deal! How did you arrive at that #?
![]() btw, I requested an Internet price from a couple of my local dealers on their Series.Yellows last night. None has gotten back to me. Guess they are not that motivated to move these bananas. Last edited by BaatLuk; 08-17-2017 at 04:03 PM. |

I'd lowball them with $24,250 and they would of course say no. BUT, it's a good starting point considering I got my 2017 brz with PP for $26,200. The internet price they gave me was around $27,500. I offered them $24,750 (super lowball) and I eventually got them to haggle their way down to $26,200 (more than $2k below invoice). If you wait for the 2018 models to come out, I'm pretty confident you can grab a series.yellow for under $26,000 if they've been sitting on the lot for a while. Lowballing works! You'll never get the car at your lowball offer but you'll still get it at a bargain if you do it right
