GCS reverse/third brake light question

Hey y'all

So after getting massively disappointed with the Valenti third brake light not doing what I wanted it to do, I decided maybe I'll give the GCS version a try. Before I get into my question though, this is what I want:

-braking: nothing lights up
-lights on: V lights up

Is this combination possible by playing around with the wiring? Basically all I want is for the V to be on at night and that's it. I feel like the nasty brake triangle takes away from the pretty curve of the valenti brake lights and cheapens the look. Thanks in advance for any insight.

(Also if anyone in the GTA wants to trade their GCS for my Valenti, let me know what you have)

Depending on how motivated you are to give it the functionality it SHOULD have, I found this awhile back before I installed my Valenti fourth brake light. Now, I didn't go through the trouble of doing this, and I like that I have the bright triangle on when the light is on. Makes me feel better that when it blinks five times I appear more visible to those around me. I hope this helps, man!

EDIT: I do know that if you go with GCS and run the Valenti tails, there may be a noticeable difference in tone of the LEDs.

Thank you, but anything involving cutting wires or soldering is way beyond my skill level, not to mention I can't get the light out because I don't have any jacks. It's just a pain in the ass and I wish I hadn't bothered. I wish there was a way to get rid of that light altogether and just seal the hole.

I called my local shop and asked him if he knows how to do it and the guy was like "yeah I think so" with a fair bit of confidence so I hope that will solve that

This would make a good thread. Post the end results of a mod that started with "Yeah, I think I know how to do that"

Good luck OP

I wired mine up according to the non existent instructions and it works, but for some reason the center diamond is on all the time when the lights are on? it flashes several times when the brakes are applied and then stays solid. I like it though; its bright as hell and looks nice. Would rather the center be off and only come on when the brakes are applied but hey...

Always on .. bright as hell .. hence may blind ones driving behind you. There is reason, why there are traffic rules for when rear fog lights can be used. And at least here would make car fail MOT inspection.

no inspections here. haha, They can deal; better than some texting ass rear ending me. See it all to often here. Ive been behind my car and its not bright enough to actually bother anyone; but it does get your attention. And its only always on if the lights are on; during the day with lights off they are off except when braking.

It's crazy how there are all these lights and none of them come with intuitive straight out of the box lighting options lol. Like why do I gotta become an electrician to have a light I paid for do what it was supposed to do all along.

Sorry, but such attitude of not caring about others on the road can only anger. It's same story as with ones driving with forgetting switch front high beams to low, or fitting HID lights in reflector hausings not meant for that, as result also getting very bright, defocused and misshaped beams blinding oncoming traffic in night. "He crashed and died or killed someone already when behind me, so i don't care, but now in front of me at night it's like day, that's cool!", right?
Then i can only think that i should blind too with switching back highs if seeing opposite traffic with mismodded lights or permanently on high beams .. at least i (and others driving in same direction) won't be only one endangered, it will increase his chances of crash too.

Hahah wow dude, spell much? You sound like an idiot.

... And despite your opinion however incoherent it may be; 3rd/4th brake lights are legal in my area...

169.57 VEHICLE SIGNALS.
§Subdivision 1.Stoplights. (a) Any vehicle may be equipped and when required under this chapter, shall be equipped with at least two stop lamps on the rear which shall emit a red or yellow light and which shall be actuated upon application of the service (foot) brake and which may, but need not be, incorporated with the tail lamps and which shall be plainly visible and understandable from a distance of 100 feet to the rear during normal sunlight and at night.

No, english is simply foreign language to me, so i guess it's ok for you to call most foreigners world-wide idiots due that unless they learn language better then average americans.
And was in cited rule somewhere extension that "actuated of foot brake" is same as "center diamond is on all the time"? And really-really intensity of car lights is not regulated where you live and "bright as hell" is ok by regulations as far if it "looks nice"? I know i wouldn't pass inspection, i'd be stopped by cops, and i frequently be flashed by other drivers.. or not, as i probably wouldn't consider visual mods that endanger others.
