Good enough for me. Thanks Eric. I think if you and Zach at Delicious had a baby, it would be a robot that built our race cars for us

2017 BRZ Pictures

We've been asked by a few people already about the 2017 fitment, and we can say it fits and looks quite great! Thank you @johan for being the first! He also threw on our new carbon thermoplastic rear spats.

Thanks,
Eric

Do something to reduce frontal Cd of those reindeers! There is enough grip with 8x8 and limited power output, no need for extra downforce. Work on reducing drag!

If I almost scrape the OEM rear diffuser backing down a soft curb, will I scrape the non-aggressive diffuser? I have a Greddy SP Supreme catback and the muffler on it is pretty massive so I fear how low I'll have to mount the diffuser.

quick question...how much space is left between the bottom of the V and the diffuser? I have a 1.25" hitch and was wondering if I can mount that diffuser over it...maybe notch the top to let the bike rack slide in.

After spending the last couple days going through every one of the past 40 pages, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the aggressive. Can't wait to see it here soon! Don't think I've seen one with a 5axis kit yet. I'll be sure to post pictures once it arrives.

1.25" but I think you'll have a hard time getting anything between the diffuser and the bumper.

Yes, you'll probably scrape. The rear diffuser/strakes, when installed at the lowest, is about even with the rear diff for reference.

Thanks,
Eric

But rear diff unlike lower rear bumper points, usually doesn't scrape due wheel or wheels at passing that point already rising car a bit. Old story of going over bump/curb in diagonal or using higher (stock) rear to back out/park over curb. I wonder, what should be design/dimensions to make diffuser most compliant, as in at most points geometrical clearance to get just as high as other protruding parts. Very probably may reduce aero efficiency of it though, leaving mostly just underbody streamlining in place.
VeloxEric: how do you think, is some design of non rigid (hard rubber? foldable? something else?) strakes possible? As in to still act on improving aero, but may temporary bend without permanent damage in case of hitting insufficient clearance case?
Though rather probably there might be limited demand for such, as i guess most buying extra aero elements rarely care about daily drivability compliance being more track focused (excluding ricer crowd).
On second thought seeing many on track changing tires, pads .. there also might be variant of modular diffuser, that by design might allow quick attaching of eg. spats part for track that could be easily removed when driving off it.

Thought I'd do a small write-up since I finally caved and got myself a diffuser for no good reason... I went with the non-aggressive, which is probably good - I've already scraped the fins on this one on something or other...

It's not at all legal for STX, so I needed to make some tweaks so it was easy to uninstall/install at events. I also had to modify it a bit so it fit the JDL 3" exhaust...

The installed result

It's as if the exhaust and diffuser were meant for each-other - it matches up incredibly well. I like having this, even though it probably does nothing relevant at all. Maybe helps fuel economy (I averaged ~29.6 on my last road-trip, clear highway or around town, and not a whole lot in the 60mph range where the car seems to do best...) Pretty sure I've been able to feel the change in rear traction even at lower speeds, but... no idea how real that is - I don't like to push the car too hard on the street, and have done no scientific testing... yet.

The modifications:

I needed a bit more room to clear the exhaust (I got it close, then traced along the piping with a pencil so I had ~12mm clearance):

Then I cut off the tabs intended to mount this to the rear swaybar mounts and added a hole:

Finally, I made two new brackets. These attach at the swaybar mount (though above the bracket, not under it). I also modified the included brackets so I wouldn't have loose nuts every time I remove this. Same size metric thread for these.

It adds only about three minutes to my setup routine at events, with the bolts at the swaybar being the worst (I have to use an allen key to fit between the LCA and this tab, the rest I can remove easily with the impact... not that it needs an impact to remove). If I forget to do this while I have the rear tires off, it takes slightly longer, but is still easy to do with the car on the ground. Install takes a little longer since it takes a bit of wiggling to get all the bolts lined up so they don't cross-thread - again, at the swaybar mount is the worst part.

Worst problem I've had is forgetting I had a spacer when removing, and losing it... I'm using the shortest spacers at the side mounts and the largest spacer at the rear mounts for spacers (one in each spot, no stacking required).

Has anyone tried to fit an Invidia Gemini exhaust with one of these? I'm guessing no since the mufflers are stacked on top of one another and hang pretty low...

Will the aggressive fit the fujitsubo? Someone posted that the non aggressive fit with their fujitsubo authorize r, but I didn't see it on the list of confirmed fitments.
