If you add the underbody panels, I think you will lose some ground clearance. Unless you plan to take it to the track, and the marginal drag improvements are worth it, why bother?

It's natural balance is 'mild under-steer'. The front will generally wash out first. It only becomes tail happy if you provoke it aggressively and unsettle it or if you are in 1st or the top end of 2nd.

At normal, 2nd/3rd gear "fun" driving speeds on twisty roads... or on a track:

Turn in: You need to brake hard and fling/chuck it into the corner to unsettle it.

Mid corner: You need to properly load the car up to the point the tyres are squealing and then feed in the power in 2nd.

Exit: Similar to Mid corner but if you are running up towards the top of 2nd it can break lose a little sometimes. I've only had it step out once in 3rd and it was on slippery cold, wet road.

You can power slide anywhere in 1st if you are aggressive enough with it. The downside is you are all too quickly into the limiter. Top end of second works too, but as that is 50+mph it's considerably more risky off track. You could always clutch kick it in 2nd if you are that way inclined.

The time to be careful in this car is when in 1st and 2nd and its wet or slippery. When you break traction with power at the rear it can swing pretty quickly. I recommend keeping the "nannies" fully on in the wet until you get much more used to the car or have practised in a wide open area first. (180 spin turns on a dime are available )

Johnny Eck actually had a twin brother, Bobby, who didn't have the same condition. They were in a magic show where Bobby would walk out on stage and be sawed in half in a box, but the illusion would substitute Johnny for Bobby's top half. Then Johnny would jump out of the box and go running around the theater on his hands while the women screamed and fainted.

Congrats. Take the time to know the car and fully break it in, and then you can have some fun sliding actions on onramps and the like. But take it easy because so many people use to front wheel drive cars have done idiotic things and turned the nannies off and crashed and totaled the car.

As the other poster said, you can definitely squeeze a bike in. I'm 6'8" and have a hardtail 29er and I can fit in with just the front wheel off. If I take both wheels off I have a little more room for a passenger!

Whew! That's a lot to think about. I'm glad I'm not driving aggressive enough yet to need to know all that yet. Just passed the 1000 mile break in, so maybe I'll find an empty parking lot and practice and test the different traction buttons. The only time I've done much fishtailing was long ago in my buddy's mid 80s mustang while on ice and snow in the winter. After constantly wagging the back end on every turn for a bit, we got used to it and would no longer even break conversation while sliding all over the road making corrections. We felt like the Blues Brothers! It's a pity they salt roads like crazy nowadays. It's pretty hard to find icy patches anymore thanks to plow and salt truck zealots.

I will have to try this. That makes two bikers somehow using the trunk. I'll admit, I'm somewhat sceptical my mountain bike hard tail will fit. Maybe I can jam it in there, but is it worth the effort and will it scuff up the car? I'm guessing you need to remove front tire and load the rear tire first. But will the pedals pass the narrow part under the glass?

The ol' Integra hatch can fit it easily. Even two bikes in a pinch. Why the coupe hatchback formula is dead I will never know. There hasn't been one in years. The new civic is close, but it's a 5 door, not 3, and the looks are a little too overstylized with all the faux vents and such. It's all good, though--I have a Tundra now too!

Joey Ramone is rolling over in his grave... correct lyrics:

Gabba-gabba, we accept you, we accept you, one of us
Gabba-gabba, we accept you, we accept you, one of us

I don't want to be a pinhead no more
I just met a nurse that I could go for
I don't want to be a pinhead no more
I just met a nurse that I could go for

I don't want to be a pinhead no more
I just met a nurse that I could go for
I don't want to be a pinhead no more
I just met a nurse that I could go for

D-U-M-B
Everyone's accusing me

I don't want to be a pinhead no more
I just met a nurse that I could go for
I don't want to be a pinhead no more
I just met a nurse that I could go for

"Google goggle" - Ugh! Damn Kids! Now get off my lawn.

I haven't tried to put my Felt Verza Speed in there, but I imagine it actually would need to be fed in nose first, from the passenger side into the cargo space, after removing the front tire. Seems like there would be a good chance of jacking something up in the interior.

I was thinking about a suction cup based bike carrier I saw on a 370Z recently- seemed like a good solution.

I hate to break it to you, but Joey Ramone is not the source. It comes from the 1932 film "Freaks" by Todd Browning of Dracula fame. Damn near the creepiest thing you will ever see for something that dates from the dawn of cinema. I was going off memory, having not seen it in 20 years, that it was "google goggle one of us", but I just looked it up and it is actually "gooble gobble". But honestly, considering the poor sound quality and the misshapen twisted freaks chanting it, the g sound and b sound are awfully close. Gabba gabba? Isn't that a kids show?

Does this make me a pinhead?

If it does, you can party with me any time. FWIW, I too was well aware of the original source (e.g. Freaks) - but could not work it into a sarcastic old man joke about mangled lyrics.
