It seems like a no brainer to me, but I went on craigslist and found a ton of cheap NA miatas selling for a lot less. They were not at nice, but still, it seems like the demand for NA Miatas has really dropped off.

I know cars are not supposed to be an investment, but at the same I don't really like to buy cars if I can't flip them for more eventually. What do you guys think?
I think its a crapshoot to buy a car thinking you can sell it for more later.

That's a good point. I'm at a weird place in life and was considering maybe selling my FRS for a truck and using the miata to DD. I'm really on the fence though

I've owned roughly 25 cars since I was 16. The majority of the time I make a profit when I decide to sell.

Yeah, I know of that one. Too bad you can't get there via Palomares currently.

Lol, ya, roads "in" Sac are awful, but surprisingly, the twisty roads nearby are really good. Roads have fresh tarmac, are silky smooth, have great elevation changes and have very pleasing cambering to give that certain vertical G-loading to get that "sinking gut" feeling. I feel like some of those roads, dare I say it, are better than the more popular bay area roads like La Honda, Mines, etc. Just a shame they are so far.

Just getting caught up on Neste Rally Finland when I came across this video.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvElnDrYdMA"]NESTE RALLY FINLAND 2017 | 15 CRASHES | SPECTATOR HEAD CAM - YouTube[/ame]

This cracks me up, really wish I can make the pilgrimage and spectate. Spectating here in the US (or at least in the 3 times I did at the Mendocino rally) can be so boring. Basically just sitting in the woods shooting the shit behind a (protective) tree while a car zooms by every minute or so.

Personally, I've owned enough used cars to know that the "newer" car will always be the better DD. I was in a similar situation not long ago where I had my "modded" investment car (BMW 2002) that I thought can double as a daily. It was so unreliable, I ended up using my Tacoma as my DD. But of course, ymmv

Post up some possible routes in the DRIVE thread and start gauging interest for an early morning weekend drive.

What do you have in mind? Where/time?

I'm throwing around the idea of getting back into mid-week drives as we had done so long ago in the Alice's/9 region (worked in Santa Clara at that time). Now, working in Livermore, ideal route is Mines to SJ for a dinner bite.

So I have 2 job offers: one for something I've done before and doesn't really interest me but pays well, the other something I'm "familiar" with, but not an expert, is interesting because it involves some learning, but pays much less... decisions decisions...
