Michelin Pilot Super Sports, couple conerns.

You need to remember that the PSS is in a very competitive segment. Many drivers would be hard pressed to really judge one over another in street conditions. It's in autocross, and with fairly heavy, powerful cars, where a lot of the PSS reputation seems to have been developed.

They are still very good tires in the sporty-but-okay-for-daily segment. They're louder than the stock LRR tires, but also perform much better. It's always a compromise, and no tire is perfect for everyone.

I liked mine and will probably get the PS4S when it comes out in the right sizes.

How come the PS4S doesn't have our sizes, 215 or 225? When will they come out?

I honestly haven't noticed any noise at all with the PSS. The Michelin AS/3 on the other hand were super noisy, but that type of sound eventually gets blocked out by your brain. Yeah so no noise detected on my side.

PS4S is a very new tire, supposedly sizes for 17's will land some time in the next year.

PSS are not top rated anymore. And I'm guessing that by the end of the year they'll probably be 4th in the segment.

Ultimately Maximum Performance Summer tires aren't actually that great, all things considered. To me, they are the "all season" of Summer Tires.

Wow Really? PSS must be getting old.

I have 18x8.5 rims, so I went with 225 and even with that there is a very slight stretch.

My biggest gripe right now with my PSS is that they are wearing much faster than my previous tires.

Granted, the capabilities and limits have been raised, but I'm at 7/32" after driving 11,872 miles -- they are wearing evenly (camber @ -1.2°), but I'm already about halfway through the life of the tire.

Michelin has a 30,000 mile warranty on these things, but I'm not certain if I'm going to make it to that mark.

What kind of driving do you do,any drifting/powersliding or take the car to the track?

Would be kind of a surprise if its wearing that fast if your just commuting.

That's weird. I've put 2 track events and 25k miles on some star specs and they're still okay. Something may be wrong with your alignment or driving style.

Probably 75% highway. The alignment was also tuned for more highway / neutral. I take corners rather quickly, and a few slides only when it is damp out.

It's just how PSS wears my friend. I drive pretty normally and my alignment was done by one of the best alignment shops in Atlanta.

Front:
Camber: -1.2°
Caster: 5.7°
Toe: 0.04in

Rear:
Camber: -1.2°
Toe: 0.0in
