+1 for being up to temp, that's the only reason it doesn't work for me. Water temp must be dead center for several minutes before you shut off to try and engage the diagnostic mode. Outside temp is practically irrelevant (other than affecting how long it takes to get up to temp).

Adds weight. Pedal dance is OG style.

Not so sure.

Because, you have been used to driving your car with the nannies ON, now you take them off and when you get into a tight spot ....... you may think you are driving your 911 (rear engine, rear wheel drive) or your other family vehicle (front wheel drive) ........ and get all confused .......

Anyway, the next time I drive down to Hollister, to visit my brother and sister, I'm gonna take I-5 and cut over on 152 ..... just to play it safe.

It is a superbly well natured machine. You really have to be driving like a complete idiot to lose it.

It takes much more skill to drive my old 911 fast than the twin.

Oh well, I guess I won't put a burger on the grill for you.

Thanks for the in-vite, but, for 10 years I tried to eat the beef ya'll raise down there ..... poor things never saw a grain of corn their entire life ....

I used to import my beef from Omaha. I had this cute little fellow agricultural research worker girl (well, she wasn't really that cute - but when I would visit her, the whisky helped) who lived in Omaha and she would ship me Omaha fed beef, packed in dry ice, along with crop residue samples.

That thing looks like it needs to eat a burger.

hmmmm.......well, if you say so. First question, have you eaten beef in the South or Midwest ... ?? (just tryen to get an idea of what you may consider "tasty")

OK, maybe the next time I head down south, I'll swing by Campbell and we can meet up with @Sapphireho at that burger place and he can buy us a burger. I WILL get parked down the street a ways from the burger place BEFORE Sapphireho arrives. When we are finished with our meal, will you promise to hold him there till I get out of town ...??

So we've obviously got the OP all sorted out with the pedal dance. I usually just don't bother with it until I know the car is up to temp. The only time I've wanted it to be ready to go with frequency was for autocross, and it was a hot enough day the time I did make use of it that only once did I find the car had had enough time to cool off that I couldn't get the dance done immediately after starting (it was the one time I had a work assignment and the car basically sat for almost 2 hours instead of less than 1). Hot weather certainly helps keep the engine close to operating temp. The Off button in the car is enough for me in daily driving situations, because I'm not really going to ever put myself in a situation on the road where I'll want and need everything to truly be fully off vs. the 98.6% off that the Off button gives you. If I manage to lift a rear wheel off the ground and reactivate the nannies on the street, then I'm being a legitimate idiot.
