Well, it is a process. Better luck next time.

In Washington, a property that has been identified as a property that has been a location for the production of meth, is condemned until it is remediated and then cleared by the county.

Back-in-the-day, I contracted with FHLMC (Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation) to sell hundreds of properties that had been meth labs.

Yep, it's best to stear clear of those properties for several reasons:

* remediation is not always that complete (depending of where the samples are taken)

* the properties "history" can follow it via the "form 17" (sellers disclosure statement) thus, possibly reducing the property value

* sometimes, the property (months or even years later) can be "visited" by past "clients".

Yep, be sure to do your homework on any property you plan on buying.
(hint - conduct a neighborhood review (talk to several neighbors), they will tell you "all about" what has been going on in the neighborhood .....)
