The stock hood was like 16lbs, this Seibon TS hood is 18.8lb. I think you'd be hard press to find a CF hood that will be lighter than the stock hood unless you go dry carbon ($$$). The stock hood is a true featherweight.
I'm seriously thinking about a lightweight battery next to offset all this weight I'm putting on the front end, (S/C, Hood ect) Last edited by Dan37BRZ; 07-24-2017 at 03:45 PM. |

Quite stunning. Now that's the way you do a CF hood!

Dan, what can I say, the photos speak a thousand words! It looks fan-tas-tic! I used to have Caterham that I threw carbon at: nosecone, cycle wings, dash etc. I kept a band of carbon naked on the nosecone and the cycle wings..
Here's a photo of my car. |

That hood looks awesome! Can you post a picture from inside the hood? This might be stupid question but will it let water inside the bay under rain?

![]() I agree, adding a few touches of carbon here and there without over-doing it is the way to go. |

I washed it yesterday and I put some plastic bags under the vents, surprisingly it didn't seem to catch much water so I don't think rain would be much of an issue. |

Do you have any photos from further away? Interested to see how the painted hood looks with the body of the car.

That WRB paint looks incredible. Also, ft86speedfactory makes a lightweight battery kit with a light Braille battery. They also sell just the bracket thing if you want to use a different battery.
