Well if it is already screwed up there is not much they can do to it to make it worse. Not all techs are total imbeciles.

The risk is that if is something worse than the springs and if they see that you tampered with it (they can tell) then you could indeed void warranty coverage on that part.

Oh... And as far as the misunderstanding goes you have no idea how many times we have tried to help somebody just to find out 20 pages in that they had swapped engines or something. It is a hazard of armchair mechanics.

Any minute now there should be somebody along to tell you that it is the starter that is your issue.

Yea I'm making an appt as we speak. I try to be accurate and detailed when explaining issues, so when I said stock I really meant it lol.

DANG! ...... now, that's a BIG ..... ....... for being misleading ......

We are just trying to be helpful.

I suggest when you take your car into the dealership, you NOT mention that you have MTEC springs ....... I don't give a rip if they ARE just in your garage, or your pocket ..... or wherever you may keep them.

Lol sorry Didn't mean to imply I had them installed. Was going to merely follow up and ask if I should install them. I've had them for two years in the original packaging collecting dust

Well, now, that's OK.........

What I would suggest is that you go ahead and take your car back to the dealer and have them make it right.

As far as the MTEC springs, I have no experience with them ..... but, if someone gave a set, I'd toss them up on my workshop bench and leave them there.

Then, if at sometime in the future, I would decide to clean off my bench ..... I could wonder what the hell those were for .....

Now, as far as my shift knob .......

Yeah, go to the dealership. If you install the springs and the issue is still there, the dealership will claim it's the Mtec spring that are causing the problem.
