DUB Ir window tint went on today. Immediate difference. It was cooler inside the car than outside!

Went with 70 on he windshield and 50 on the rest. Love it.

Yeah, you wouldn't be able to laser etch (the intake manifold,I'm assuming) down the bends,if that's what you are trying to do. I have Trotec laser that I'm using right now as I type this, and lasers are only good for flat, level surfaces. There is a rotary attachment that allows you to etch mugs and drinking glasses, but for what you want,it wouldn't work too well.

I think he's etching a cover for the manifold

Do you really think it's worth it to run a 10mm stagger?

Ok... so I was able to do a practice run on my latest template today... the early prototype is made out of .040" aluminum. The cover is small and light and will be secured with two bolts/nuts in the back and one countersunk screw toward the front.

The prototype is only placed in the following pics... I have not made any adjustments yet.
My bends were off in this prototype... they will be on point in the final version though.

I decided to do things differently here... instead of having the little extensions that meet up with the sides... I'm going to cut that shape last and rivet it to the rear bracket.

EDIT

Btw, I will finish my two prototypes... I may have them painted or powder coated... So I will have two extra that I will sell. Anyone interested shoot me a message and we could talk about price... I could have my painter or powder coater do their magic and sell as per buyer's color preference... added cost of course or I could sell it bare metal and the buyer is responsible for finishing it. Let me know.

Was thinking etch, then bend when I made the suggestion, but that's risky if he doesn't have a laser machine to use himself.

My final template will be cut out as one piece...at the same time, the text logo I created will be cut out of the same aluminum sheet. The aluminum sheet on the Gravo machine will be flat... hope that clears up any confusion...

What are you cutting it with? If cut on a laser table, it can be etched during cutting (unless your cutters are losers). If water jet, I'd try to design your logo where it can be cut out and leave it as an opening. That's my opinion

Right. I agree a nice etch would look great but it's likely not practical. I take it you're using a water jet

This is the old school Gravo machine I have access to... It will keep going over an outline until it cuts through if commanded to. It can also engrave.
