You guys have been given horrible service. No doubt. And then having some of the characters on this forum not understand what's happened and lay into you even further must make it even worse. Sorry chaps. Maybe try reading books on zen and patience or something and use this as an opportunity to go on a self-enhancing spiritual journey? Hmm... or maybe just punch a hole in the wall.
LOL well i did hit the boxing bag pretty hard last night, but like i said. I would rather give toyota the *nudge* it needs to fix up the false expectations, vague promises/timelines and ultimately frustrating experience in the sales/delivery process.

(best emoticon ever)!

From what i remember reading somewhere in other threads, was that each dealership were allocated 1 or 2 cars a month, and if they were getting orders they would try and swap the cars they were originally getting to the cars the customer wanted with their stock controller ??

So i'd expect the white 86's would have the longest wait? unless the factory in Japan builds to each customers order which i dont think is the case is it ?

But yeah i do agree its pretty bad for Toyota to actually have this dodgey system of accepting orders and not being able to deliver on their promises

I hope this is not the case for me too as I also pre-ordered a few days into march and apparently was the first one to pre-order at my dealership

When you consider that a dealer gets 2 cars per month and that it's 50-50 MT and AT split and a 50-50 GT and GTS split - this pretty much means a dealer gets one of each spec every two months. They work with their stock controllers to move around cars they want/do not want to get a particular spec to you guys.

One suggestion for anyone who currently has an order - get a tracking number. Unless you can see that your order is actualy progressing through the system, any promises you hear from the dealer are useless.

Exactly. Toyota might have been allocated 50 GT's and GTS's in each colour, and in auto and manual. If you pre-ordered 51st for that certain spec, guess what.......

lol i ordered at the end of may before the "rush" with pricing.

I still do not have a production date and when i called toyota with the batch number i am being told that it hasn't been scheduled yet and there are extensive delays of 6-12 mths !

my dealer still says october

this is all going into my fair trading file

toyota has 1200 cars for the 6 months in 2012.

half/half GT and GTS and half/half manual and auto.

therefore 300 for each spec/gearbox.

divided by 7 colours (assume equally), that's around 42 cars with the same spec in 2012 across Australia.

conclusion - if you are not picky with colour, you are likely to get your car earlier.

once again not the expectation that was given - and unallocated cars are not allocated to those with orders!

i agree that this could have been handled better.

but i think the initial stocks were given out randomly and it's luck of the draw if you ordered at the "correct" dealer.

once orders started to fill, you will then be put in line with according to the spec and if your colour/spec is popular your order get dragged on.
