Except buying new does not guarantee that. My car had 7 miles on it when I picked it up, yet had been driven by several people before I picked it up. Off the top of my head (and there were probably more)....
  1. Driver that drove it off the assembly line
  2. Driver that drove it from assembly line to loading dock
  3. Driver that loaded it on ship
  4. Driver that loaded it off ship
  5. Driver that drove it to dock prep
  6. Driver that drove it from Dock Prep to Transport
  7. Driver that drove it off Transport at Dealership
  8. Driver that drove it to dealer prep
  9. All the Salespeople that sat on it when delivered (first one at dealership)
  10. Driver that drove it to door for test drive
  11. Salesperson that test drove it before I got there.
  12. Driver that drove it back to prep.
  13. Driver that drove it from prep and put it on showroom floor.
  14. Driver that drove it off showroom floor to front door for delivery

So, during the time of the car was first purchased and if you bought it second hand from me, the difference in the number of people potentially farting in the seat would go up by 5 more (other drivers since new)

I realize that some of these would have been protected by the plastic on the seats (in theory) but not sure that is enough justification to buy new vs used!

So, to bring this back, I've decided to buy new. The blue BRZ I have my deposit on should be here within a week or so. However, I've become a bit smitten with the Series.Yellow! Don't get me wrong, I still think the WRB may be my favorite color, but I"m really liking the yellow with black trim, interior accents, and the exclusivity. I can't say I've seen another in the wild in the bay area yet, but just in the past few days I've seen 4 WRB BRZ's!

Am I too old (52) for the garishness of the yellow? I do still have my E46 M3 in Laguna Seca Blue, which looks similar to the Hyperblue, so I don't tend to shy away from garishness. I've noticed the WRB looks dull if it's not freshly washed. What about the yellow? Which will be easier to maintain? How are the series.yellow folks liking their cars? Wish you had bought a standard model?

I'm fifty and just moved from a GTI to a Series.Yellow last month. It gets lots of notice which is good.

Better yet, SUVs and trucks will see the yellow car much easeir than the blue.

I had a 2003 WRX wagon in WRB so I would have gotten a red BRZ if I didn't luck out and find a yellow one.

The BRZ is way more fun than the GTI. Not as fast, but much more engaging.

The only thing I would mention with buying a limited series is replacement parts are going to be harder to get. I have an FR-S RS 2.0 and the driver seat leather is wearing already. I have the Black and Tan trimmed seat. It is nolonger available from Toyota.

Not sure if this is going to be an issue with all the parts but just something to think about. Items on the special addition cars are not mass produced and easy to come by.

But I wanted to be the only Steve in the bay area with a series yellow :-(

congrats man you'll love it.

I also have one question for you. Does your VIN end in the numbers 026, or 126? I hope the answer is no but if it is yes than you should shoot me a personal message.

Thanks! I"m loving it already! I try to make up for having such a common name by choosing less common vehicles!

Nope, my VIN does not end in either of those.

I tell people the same thing!!

And good a warning needs to go out to the person that ends up getting that series yellow from the bay area... it's not good news.

Well hopefully I see you driving around, don't suspect it will be too hard to notice each other on the road. So far I've only seen one series yellow driving in the wild around downtown San Jose.
