I have access to lifts and all kinds of tools so that's what the shop manager hinted at me haha. I was just afraid asking him in case they made notes saying I had the parts xD

Thanks for the install pics! I'm assuming the stock air box and intake hose have to be removed to install the pulley?

For Perrin's price plus appropriate tools and time, I think this is a mod worth doing.

Make sure you can use the Subaru tool since you have an AT like me, and if you can't get that, get the Company23 one. Well worth it.

Thanks for the link. Just ordered the tool. I didn't even think about needing one for the install. Oh well, I will probably have the tool before the pulley ships at this rate.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread, but is the special tool needed for MT cars or just for AT? I understand that Perrin replied earlier in this thread saying that MT cars just have to put it in 6th gear, but does that lock the bottom end enough to get the OE crank bolt loosened?
Doing this on my old 944 required taking the starter off and installing a flywheel lock, because the crank pulley didn't have holes drilled in it to use a tool to keep it from turning the engine over. |
