Drummond Motorsports Coilovers

Over the last 8 months, I have had a small Aussie company developing some coilovers for me.
I couldn't find anything that was currently available that I liked, I was running D2's which i hated, a lot out there looked pretty much the same just rebranded, or were way too expensive for what they were.

So DMS made me something a little special.
Took me 8 months, and a few 6 hour round trip drives to where they were, and a few little development issues (which they will change for production models)

Everything apart from the springs are made in house which was something i liked, so if i ever have a problem they can fix it, plus they can rebuild them if they ever need it.

I still need to get a wheel alignment etc, but so far even as they are they are a massive improvement over what I had!
Plus I like being different, so having the only set in the world is kinda nice :p

Bespoke coilovers? Nice! How much did those cost you?

Spring rates? Shock dyno?

Nice looking and beefy. Interested on their specs. Encourage them to join up here on ft86 club and share the development process and details, please!

Looks like springs are linear in front and progressive in rear. Why? What do you plan to do with these?

Why are there three collars just sitting on top of each other at the bottom of the front struts?

I remember the DMS 50s being held in high regard in SCCA Rally (about 15 years ago) but I haven't heard anything about the company since I stopped following that.

Looks like the bottom one is a jamb "nut" against the lower mount (which is threaded onto the shock), and the middle one is a jamb "nut" for the top collar.

Price for them when they start selling them I think will be around AUD$2600 without top hats, but it may be more as they were not as straight forward as most of their setups,
no shock dyno details, and I honestly cannot remember where we ended up with spring rates, we discussed it months ago after a trip up to their workshop to pull out my D2's to have a look over them, then they mentioned it to me at 8am Saturday morning while i was hungover :\

Congratulations on having something cool and unique. They look very interesting - can you try and get more information on spring rates and why the builder chose linear springs in the front and progressive springs in the rear?
