I saw one gray color in a Ford dealer near me. Checked it out and that color is nice in person! You're right about that purplish color in sunlight. I was like wait a minute, I'm not seeing a different color right?

How is the suspension as a daily? I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of videos and all of them were not happy with the suspension as a daily?!

Honestly was in a bit of a rush to get lunch and then come back to do an important deployment this afternoon.

From a distance it looked nice and stealthy (not very flashy).

Unfortunately didn't get close enough to see if I could see more than just the gray.

It's not really that bad, I think most of the reviews are just exaggerated since they are expecting BMW levels of sport suspension. To me, it feels like it's on aftermarket coil overs, sure, it's a little "bouncy" but totally daily driveable (which I do). My only gripe is that it does seems to be over dampled and tends to "pogo" on certain roads, specially on long stretches of concrete or bridges where there are seams every few feet. Gets annoying after a while.

I was actually planning on being more "grown-up" and flying below the radar with the gray, then I made the mistake of seeing the blue in person and realized I'm still a 12 year old stuck in a grown man's body. Then I just went full-on and got white wheels, red mudflaps, etc. #NORAGRETS lol

Eh, that's so much better anyway. Might as well be to everybody on the road

I was planning to test drive one last weekend but got too busy with other stuff. It's sure an eye catcher and for what you get for the price is really a good one. My wife is like "can you make up your mind on w/c car you really planning to get after you graduate?!"

Funny enough, the blue is the more common color with the gray being the "rarest".

Wait, "graduate"? Dang, I've gotten my masters, worked 2 jobs and owned my own consulting business before I was able to afford this car lol. I guess they are letting folks test drive these now since the hype has gone down and everybody has their sight on the type-r (CTR?). Every time I asked a dealer for a test drive, they laughed at my face. This is the first car I've bought with no test drive, just purely on hype.

Yup. I don't really see much of the gray color around.

I'm currently trying to finish my bachelor's in nursing. I think that's what i'm imagining my situation will be later though. Lol.

Well the very first time I got laughed at to test drive was the civic hatch! I was like wtf? Are you kidding me?!

Most likely. It's that hype for the CTR?now.

OK, I gotta vent for a second. WTAF is up with my transmission?! I got a replacement transmission installed from Subaru last Friday. Over the following days, 1st and 2nd gear were increasingly hard to shift into.

After Wednesday, they are nonexistent. Also, it feels like the shifter springs are gone. It seriously feels like moving a broken arm around in the socket. It can shift into everything except 1st and 2nd. However the lever still just flops around, even when in gear.

Livermore Subaru was great and took it in immediately. They also gave me a loaner. Unfortunately, they're so backed up, they said it'd be Monday before they could even look at it. I'm thinking it won't take long to diagnose. Considering all you have to do is just touch the lever and you know it's jacked.

Seriously this is a BRAND NEW (supposedly) transmission. I just got it, literally a week ago. What the actual flippin flippity flip!?

Kudos to Livermore Subaru's customer service, though. I had an appointment for Monday (which I made when I noticed a problem, but before the transmission completely crapped the bed), but when I called to see if I could bring it in earlier, they accommodated me. Even though they can't get to it until Monday, they took it in and gave me a loaner. Personally, they've treated my wife and I very well.

Hopefully they'll be able to get this sorted out quickly.

Just for context of how bad this car's luck has been lately: I got backed into in May (week-long stay at an auto-body shop). I got hit in the passenger rear quarter panel this past Saturday (extremely little damage though), and transmission problems started on Tuesday. So I can't even get a quote to get the panel repainted until I get the car back which isn't going to be at least until Monday or Tuesday.

My poor car....

Good lord, man. Maybe they didn't reinstall correctly? Can't be two faulty transmissions in a row

Yeah. Not thrilled about it. It took almost two weeks to get this replacement transmission in. I really don't want to wait that long again to get this one fixed.

Are the mechanics at that dealer rated well on Yelp or whatever?

Hopefully faulty rather than a technician making some mistake, though the wait for another would suck..

I don't know how the mechanics specifically are rated. But that dealership is rated really really well. They're also on the "white list" on the forums. So far, they've done really well by my wife and I.

I'm hoping it was the fault of the unit rather than the person. I can forgive that a lot easier. Oh well. I'm just eager to get my car back. I've got headers picked out. lol!

Glad to hear they are treating you well. It may very well be the trans but could be possible that it was install error. These guys don't seem to deal with very many BRZs. I personally haven't had that great of luck with the service dept at Livermore Subaru. Took my car there a handful of times because I've made a good relationship with the service rep but don't think I'll be coming back anymore.

Here's a list:
-Went in for oil change, oil was over filled and oil was splattered everywhere in my engine bay (maybe they spilled some on my belt, I don't know)
-Went if for a software update (ECU reflash) with my then 6 mo. daughter. Took them 4 hrs to do it. My poor daughter ran out of formula and couldn't sleep in her carrier so I had to pace around the waiting room rocking her. The service guy refused to give me a loaner because he was "saving it for somebody who really needs it". Ended up taking an Uber home.
-Both rear axles started "clicking" ie bad bearing. They first refused to warranty them because I was on aftermarket coilovers, but after I argued with the master tech and showed him I was at stock ride height (took a tape measure and compared my car with one of the floor) they honored it and replaced one side. Had to comeback another time for the other side.
