When the 10 Series came out it came with the new Pioneer head unit and for additional $$ you'd get the navigation option that included the GPS add-on module +GPS antenna. The old Bespoke head unit was available to FR-S owners that had model year 2013 (that radio was a poor choice, talk about bare bones). The 10 Series had the head unit a few months before FR-S model year 2014 came out in 3rd QTR 2013. The same head unit was later updated to use apps. I don't see how any 10 Series owner could've gotten stuck with the old radio -auto shows, press kits and online brochures only had the new unit. |

ok. i have the touchscreen, non nav stereo. Just says Pioneer on it, nothing about Bespoke. Sounds plenty powerful enough especially for a small car.
Still confused if this is the same radio found on later FR-S cars or if its unique to the 10 series. Haven't found much on it, nor did I get any 10 series documentation. |

I understand how they want to emphasize the driving experience but any worse than this is a AM radio with a cassette deck. It's one thing not to have buttons on the steering wheel but to offer that radio (which in the 80's would've been considered junk) is disappointing -Hyundai, Kia, and Ford laugh at that radio. |

Can someone verify this for me on their 10 Series:
When you use the interior light dimmer does that also dim the backlit buttons on the stock headunit? |

10th to the last 10 Series
We picked up 2491 a couple weeks ago as a project car for my sons and I. It's a MT, had just over 57K miles on it, and was bone stock. We are scouring this forum for mod ideas. Thanks in advance for all of your contributions, especially the ones with step-by-steps and pictures.

#496. only 40k km, thinking of trading it in for a manual since unfortunately all they had was auto.
But I also want to keep it just cuz it's limited edition. No mods done, basically kept stock other than the after market rims, is it worth tuning up an auto transmission frs? https://ibb.co/hpMth5 https://ibb.co/dGO625 |
