I also have a smoker friend who turned me on to Ozium. That stuff is magic. It first it makes your car smell "sterile" (makes me think of a doctor's office waiting room), but after about a day the car will smell completely neutral.

Used some after a long road trip which made the car smell like fast food and other funk, the next day the car smelt great.
