No guarantee, but it's a possibility.
My dealer has to install most of the aero bits when it arrives so hopefully I don't have to wait for that. For some reason the factory won't install those. Watch, it will arrive then they will order those parts Edit: ... and they will be backordered >_>

Is it normal that Subaru keeps such a lean inventory of BRZs? i.e. according to cars.com, there are only 3 white BRZs with PP in the entire state of California!

Yes. It is a very low production car and spread across a very large country. The 17s also seem to be selling well so there are even fewer than before available. Not good for getting deals!

I've come to accept fact that there isn't a lot of room for negotiation for this car. And that's OK, I enjoy the exclusivity (kind of) and hopefully better resale value due to (relatively) low volume. Now I just need to decide whether to get a 17 now or wait a month or 2 for an 18, since I will be ordering any way.

Eh, I got a very incredible deal.

Not saying it's easy but it might be a matter of finding the right salesman

You jumped in early though and they didn't really know how well they were going to go. As the supply dwindles it gets harder to negotiate. Always a crap shoot though since if they weren't going well they could be practically giving them away by now.

There are practically no manual Limiteds in stock anywhere in northern CA, except for the 4 Series.Yellow at Stevens Creek, and a WRB in Walnut Creek. It looks like a few with PP are on the way, due in a July. Even with this limited number, every dealer quoted me $1K under invoice with very little haggling. Even Stevens Creek quoted $1K under invoice for the yellows. They can't order more manual Limiteds until they sell theM.

One dealer through out a quote of $2K under invoice for a WRB with PP, which is exactly what I'm looking for. I have a deposit on it. It's due in July. I hope it works out!

Similar experience here. Dealer quoted about $1500 under invoice for a 17 with performance package in dark gray. Due in July.

Low volume seller. Not low production. Subaru can build as many as they need to. The supply isn't artificially restricted like a 911 or a 488.

It seems likely the new refresh is so much better than the earlier versions that Subaru hasn't anticipated the increase in demand. Sales figures will show if I am right, early numbers are promising. Certainly the improvements Subaru's made are significant, worth over a second a lap at Willow apparently, even without the PP.

Plus the Scion brand idea just didn't work for Toyota. The Toyota 86 is probably a much more attractive model name as compared to Scion. Certainly Scion made some excellent vehicles so that wasn't the issue.

Low production or low seller is pretty much the same thing when applied to these. They sell what they make so the terms are interchangeable. The Aztec was a low seller since they made shitloads of them and hardly sold any.

The Toyota dealer system is much more extensive than the Scion one was so they have more than doubled their exposure. Any increase in sales of the 86 could be attributed to that as much or more than what the badge was.

Holy cow! I am so happy to hear this! $2k off invoice even when ordering in advance! Would you mind sharing the names of the dealers? I am in SoCal but situation should be similar.

$28,131 is the factory invoice for a Limited with PP according to TrueCar, $2k off would make it close to $26k! Please tell me that is true!

Well... It's not a done deal until the car comes in and I go to pay for it, so I hesitate to announce that I got the car at this price!

This was a car the dealer had already ordered and had a VON for. It has the PP and package #3. MSRP is $30,260. Invoice is $28,518. I was quoted $26,518.

All the other dealers have said $2K below invoice is suspiciously low and they can only do $1K below invoice. We'll see in July if this works out!

I don't know if it's against forum policy to state dealer names. I also don't want my deal to be jeopardized by a higher bidder! I did put down a $500 refundable deposit but I don't trust dealers.

The value of the Toyotas now is also better than the FRS. I got my '17 for the same price as new FRS were going for. Comes with better interior materials, standard led headlights and taillights for the same price.

In Canada they are $5K more.
If you got a deal on the 86 and are comparing it to full price on a FRS that isn't really a fair comparison though.
