Sorry Ed I certainly did not mean to highjack your thread. Welcome to the site and grats on the lovely new BRZ!

Also on a side note.. I purposefully did not opt for the sat nav in mine and ended up with a far superior Pioneer 7" Apple Car play unit along with revers camera, amp and new speakers instead. All said and done it ended up being only a little more in the end than the dealer supplied option. Having no controls on the steering wheel was a boon in this case being one less thing to worry about integrating.

See I love the sound the car makes. I don't find the ride to all that terrible and the streets in my area look like the aftermath of a WWII carpet bombing campaign. Sure it's stiffer that most cars, but then it's a purpose built sports car, it's not supposed to be refined and composed.

And I have to laugh at people who are expecting luxury in a 30K(US) car. Hell for that price we're lucky we're getting seats, tires, and a tank of gas with the damned thing.

People always wants the most and pay the least. I myself included. I has a lot of trouble deciding what car to get because my friends tell me I want an M4 with the price of a Honda Fit. Which is true Lol

Though 30k can get you a lot of luxury nowadays. Might not be high quality material luxury, but luxurious functions compared to what we used to get.

And for those who were wondering. I've considered brz, Wrx (maybe slightly used), mustang ecoboost, used 370z Nismo, and used g37. All manuals. I've narrowed down to the brz or 370z Nismo. Have been a long time Z fan boy. But even At used prices the Nismo is still pretty pricey. And I couldn't justify spending that much on a used car when I can get a brand new loaded brz for the same or even lower price. Also the interior of the brz is way better and the seats hug way better. I might be a Z fan boy, but I definitely felt more at home in the brz cockpit.my main concern was that the brz was gonna be slow. But drove it and it felt good. Besides I figured living in LA I'm not gonn use all 350 hp the Nismo gives me anyways. Maybe someday I'll get a Z.

Tl;dr - chose new brz over used 370 Nismo.

i miss the space provided in my old tsx. mine was a standard, one of a small percentage ever made. acceleration is slightly better in the smaller car. handling was still nimble-ish for being smaller in its class, but nowhere near the feel of turning a corner in the smaller car.

Hi, do you drive longer drives? How would you compare steering of both cars on highways? I am doing the same swap as you (10' TSX>2017 BRZ) and I am afraid that the BRZ will be tiring because it seems is not that stable. But other people says otherwise... Thanks

I personally came from a 05 TSX (CL9) to now the 15 FRS both A/T
ride is somewhat stiffer on the Twins, but have same highway stability as the TSX and I do over 70 miles daily commutes. The only thing I missed from my TSX was the extra room in rear and the K24 motor but have considerable better overall mileage 26 MPG was most I can squeeze while on the Twins I can consistent hit 30 to 31 MPG easily. You'll enjoy the Twins guarantee you especially coming from first gen TSX which I felt really has a lot of character and driving feedback for a FWD 4 door car.

Thanks, only thing I have the second gen. TSX. But I drove the first gen too, but really different cars! 1st is much more "sporty" then 2nd, it is significantly more in the "lux" segment compared to the 1st.

Besides, with the BRZ, you can feel like you're hopping into a space fighter.

2 months late, hope it'll still help.

two totally different car. the steering on the brz is soooo sharp and precise, i love it! the ride is definitely stiffer stock brz to stock tsx, but i feel like the seats supports much better in the brz as well. i had still coilovers on my tsx for a few years so the stiffness for the brz doesnt bother me. but if comfort is your primary concern, you might want to test drive first. tsx is way quieter and more spacious and comfortable.
