There isnt even a sunroof option so why would they do a convertible. That epuld be much heavier and would kill the purpose of this car. I dont see it happening tomorrow!

Depends on how bad you want the convertible/how long you want to wait for it. It's the 2014 model, so it won't be available until at least this time next year. Do you need a new car now? Or can it wait? Also, I know the convertible was talked about, but was it made official? No sense waiting for something that might just be a chance.

I'd get a Miata if I needed a cheap convertible sports car right now and couldn't wait. Waiting around for the next big thing usually ends up being very frustrating

IMO convertibles arent worth the hassle, but back when i had my S2K I probably went top down only a dozen times out of 3-4 years of owning it

In a convertible, much rather have cloth in CA. It can get way to hot in the summer time and leather.

I see no harm in waiting for the convertible if you don't need a car right now. Sure people say you'll be "missing out" by waiting, but that's like saying a ride at an amusement park is different depending on your place in line. The car will only get better with time. I'm personally waiting for them to fix the idle issue and seeing if they find and solve what made the CEL come on for one of our fellow forum-goers. I'm not spending 25k+ for a beta test car.

Weren't there articles about the convertible coming in model year 2014? If it happens, that's still some time from now...

If this car launched as a convertible, I would have already bought another S2000.
