I have a mullet now. Pretty pumped on it. Girlfriend, not so much. She told me if it's not gone by the next time I see her, we're done. Naturally, I'm going to tempt fate

Day 9 of 11, 4500 miles so far. Dunno if I want to find more twisties or come straight home after Bozeman... Can get back to Seattle in 10 hours or less (600 miles). Already tired from planning this trip, can't wait to drive it!

Your car was on an alignment rack correct?

You probably just need a mechanic with precision of little Asian hands.

The garage I goto is owned and operated by a bunch of certified Toyota / Lexus mechanics and master techs (they quit the dealership and opened their own shop). Not sure if that makes a difference. Their Hunter alignment rack can raise the car so high up that they have a ladder to get to the car while working on it.

Tell her you're preparing for the day you go bald and that's the only hair you can still grow... skullets are IN, I tell you...

Also, I'm fucking lazy when it comes to hair cuts... or not bothering.

Looks like a good trip!

I've driven most of that route in our miata a few years back. Beautiful country!

I predict that by the time you get to Bozeman, you will be ready to jump on I-90, set the cruise control and motor on back home .....

I-15 through Utah has an 80mph speed limit that varies through towns and overpasses. Don't go over it. The highway patrol basically acts like they're doing you a favor by giving you an 80mph limit, so they will nail you for exceeding it.

I-15 from the corner of Nevada through Arizona is curvy and fun, but it's been under constant construction through the canyon for at least 10 years. I don't think they're actually constructing anything; I think they leave it "under construction" as a speed control tactic.

You could definitely hit up more of CA Hwy 2, but you would be doubling back and forth a bit coming out of LA. Watch out for bicyclists on LA mountain roads. They don't understand that "share the road" means they have to share too, so you'll come around a blind uphill corner and find a pack of cyclists five across blocking the entire lane. Also be courteous to motorcyclists going faster than you, because you're holding them up. I've stayed far to the outside line and let them pass me in my lane before, because there's never a passing lane when you need one and it's better to have both drivers on the same page instead of the cyclist taking it into his own hands and passing you when you aren't expecting it. Watch for cops monitoring everyone. They know people like to drive those roads fast. Hitting the LA mountain roads on a weekend is a nightmare of fat lawyers wearing branded spandex without actually being sponsored, so time that portion so it'll be on a weekday. Watch for hikers. Sometimes you have a vertical wall on one side and a vertical drop on the other, so literally the only place to walk is on the very windy road. Watch for fallen rocks in the road. They can be big enough to eat your bumper. Be prepared to come to a quick controlled stop around every blind corner. Also, there are some gorgeous scenic overlooks on those roads.

Correct, on an alignment rack

Sounds like you have a great garage to go to!
Not sure why you would want to get on a ladder to reach a car on a hoist though...
