Sunday:

Lots of work done. Not a lot of pictures as I was kind of focused. I will do my best to do a good overview of the car in a video.

One thing I will note. The room for exhaust with the Vorshlag mounts is next to nothing. 2.5" exhaust barely fits, and it knocks around in the tunnel. It also has to dip way low. I am thinking about cutting the small tabs that wrap around bottom frame. Not sure if it is the exhaust hitting, or the car vibrates that bad. It's hard to listen to music.

2.5" to 3" Merge

Aluminum

Coolant routing

Cheap Filter until the dryflow comes in. Fits perfect.

Paint hides many things haha. I want to pay someone to make a good one. Possible cut into the flow and make a new panel so I can have more exhaust clearance.

Shifter while I find one to buy

Trying to cut some heat and sound out of the cabin. Probably saturday I am going to remove the exhaust and spend some time adding the heat shield stuff to the underside of the trans tunnel. It's so loud in the cabin.

So much for these plug wires fitting with the headers. Contacting Holley about it today.

I also ran into the issue of adding the PCV Fitting into the intake. I only have a silcone coupler between the maf and throttle body, wanted a good way of adding hose into it. Found Water Bypass for personal watercrafts. Should be here this week.

Had an issue where The steering wheel sits crooked while driving straight. I couldn't figure out what it was. I forgot I was messing with the steering column while trying to take the dash bar out and it must have slipped. I am hoping I can take the steering wheel off and center it from there, or I might have to remove steering column and try again.

Day Yesterday:

Not a whole lot. Video overview is uploading. Tightened the header to exhaust bolts a bit more. I think one of my gaskets is leaking. So I need to replace that. Got a few other issue I am chasing. Mostly the car Idles great, but it seems to drive rough. Not sure if it's because it's a V8 with almost solid bushings with poor exhaust, or it's missing on a cylinder.

I did have a fun experience yesterday, Gas gauge was still pointing at half a tank and the car ran out of gas. Waited about 40 minutes for my brother to arrive with Gas and it started right up. Colin mentioned shipping the devices yesterday, so I am expecting the Can Bus device some time this week. Very excited for that.

Picture of how much room there is underneath

One issue I sort of corrected. Contacting Holley about it, seeing what they want to do.

Threw on the MSD wire with some of the Tunnel Sound and heat barrier to hopefully help the wire survive until I can get a replacement.

I took the steering wheel off and centered it. Works great now.

Been Driving and enjoying the car. Still working on the MRS Can Bus device install video I made. Trying to get the car cleaned up for the Import Alliance KC meet here in two weeks.

Drift Armor Bar came in yesterday and got it modified for radiator mount. Weather permitting I am going to mount the Velox Splitter and get the splitter mount welded on.

In the process of getting ready for Import Alliance KC. Pulling the transmission this week to hopefully get the vibration figured out. I am guessing it is the pressure plate bolts that I got that didn't seem to have much in the way of quality control. That is what I get for buying local instead of waiting for the ARP or factory bolts to be shipped in. Buying the ARP and should be here in a few days.

This will also allow me to modify the transmission bracket, and make more room in the transmission tunnel. I plan on adding more sound deadening/heat shield while it's all out. I need to find the transmission fluid leak as well. I have a feeling it is coming from a pry mark on one of the case mating surfaces. I can't find anywhere else that seems to be leaking.

Amazing write up man, I spent the last 3 hours going through it all. I also need to close in my trans shifter as there is no barrier atm. What did you use as a filler? Thanks!

Sorry for all the missing pictures. Every time I update them. They seem to go dead about a week later. Working on a solution.

I am using a Peel and Stick heat shield. Mine is made by DEI, but this one is just about the same.

Used on top and on bottom to seal it and keep heat out.

Changed Transmission Fluid, hammered a little on the 2.5 to 3" merge to help clear trans tunnel, removed aftermarket coolant temp gauge wiring as I no longer need it. I did get the pressure plate bolts replaced. You can do them in the car, just make sure to have a magnet to get the bolt out if they fall out of the socket. It helped the vibration a small bit.

I found the Oil Pan rests on the steering rack a tiny bit, so I will be removing the steering rack and grinding on the pan. I think I can get the stock oil dipstick tube to work with the CTS-V A/C Compressor with a little bending. Still couldn't find the transmission fluid leak. I also have one spot where the transmission hits the trans tunnel. Need more work with a pry bar to try and move the tunnel out enough to clear.

Kind of looking at running my exhaust like this car. Us Oval tube exhaust under the floor, maybe put a small false floor in the car and clearance the floor for the exhaust to make more room under the car. Really want to do a flat floor eventually. I will integrate a box into the aero that will cover the exhaust. Then some Jenvey ITBs down the road....

Got the A/C Compressor Mounted. Super happy to have that done. Just need to get the custom lines made.

Working on getting a set of STI Brembos. Need new pads in my wilwoods anyway, and I already have new STI Rotors. Have a friend selling me a full set for a good price. I really hope to get the Fronts Painted and on by Import Alliance KC. Being they are '04-'07 I need a bracket for the rears. Won't be here in time.

Terrible Photo is Terrible, but It gets the point across haha. Was told they were '06 STI Calipers and that they needed rebuilding. Ended up being '08+ and Being in good condition (From what I can tell. No obvious leaking. The pistons moved smooth when I pushed them in by hand). Weird thing is somebody brushed paint over the faces to cover the STI logo. I wet sanded the face a tad and used some polish to get them looking decent. Needs more work, but I Don't really have the time with everything else that needs finished.
