Well the other day I heard my gf's friend the mechanic made a comment about how the capacity of modern Japanese car A/C systems on avg is a full pound less than older designs.

Hope the service department can fix the issue before the trip.

Speaking of the trip, California is probably going to be a 2 or 3 day thing. I want to hit up the awesome canyons that I've seen videos of (rt 36, Angeles Crest, etc.) Here's what I have so far, if anyone is interested:
Hold up there for a moment, speedy.

You mean to tell me that you are going to drive from Seattle to LA and back and have time to do canyon carving ...... taking part of the route shown on your map .......

YIKES, that would be almost a 3,000 mile round trip .....taking the coast route.

That's a 1,000 per day. Average speed on the coast route is maybe about 40 miles per hour. 1,000 miles @ 40 mph = driving 25 hours a day.

I'm thinking you may wish to ........recalculate.

Well, now, Ashikabi, let's not get ol @soulreapersteve all upset ......

Maybe his A/C system is a bit low on refrigerant and just needs to be charged up.

Agreed, it would be best to check for leaks and fix any before recharging.

Or, just go with it as is ...... just stick to the coast .....

Nahhhh, go with the more expensive route. Turn it into a convertable. A/C problem solved.

We just bent another guy over a barrel because he wanted to service his own A/C.

If it's low, there's a leak. It didn't just magically disappear. Sheesh!

I wasn't advocating that he do his own A/C servicing.

But to have it done by a certified A/C shop.

Sheesh ...... ??

Trialed one in the plant a couple of years back. It made the untreated rotor castings rust REALLY fast!
