Who says the Hellcat and Demon are not a radically different design than the rest of the line up? They may look the same on the outside but that does not mean they are the same underneath the skin.

I hope you meant "dirty cones". What you wrote takes on a whole new meaning.

That doesn't account for all the owners and automotive journalists.

"Hi all. Haven't drove one yet but I am thinking of buying a BRZ and figure that 300HP should be just about enough. What is the best turbo for under $1,000. It will just be my daily driver so I don't think I need anything fancy"

He said "most".
Nobody has ever answered me as to exactly where they street drive the car where they get to push it to the limit as it is.

Most of the journalists that said needs more were track driving it. You read long term driver reviews when they daily it and more of them say it is fine than complain it needs more.

Now that Trump has put the spanner in the works regarding climate change, what if the car manufacturers revert to NA by ditching the drive for smaller turbo charged engines??

Side question: Does a turbocharged Twin suffer from turbo lag or does it behave the same as the NA until the turbo has spooled up?

All turbo engines behave as NA until the turbo spools up. How long they behave that way after you punch it until the turbo kicks in is what turbo lag really is.

Turbo used to mean a lower compression engine (I'm talking about the old days) that lead to a very stark contrast before and after the turbo got going. Is the compression lowered when a turbo is bolted to a Twin?

Nope it remains high. All it means is you have higher revs while waiting for the turbo to kick in. The lag is still there.
