my wife...

Not practical? If you are a house painter by trade they are correct. If you need to move yourself and some light stuff around then what is not practical about it.
Not professional? Don't understand how you can get more professional looking. BMW maybe? I am a senior manager in one of the largest automotive parts manufactures in the world and park with others of similar professional levels everyday. My car does not look out of place with theirs.
Can't drive in the snow? All I can say to that one is bullshit.
Too old? That is the funniest of all. I bet over a third of this forum are far older than 26. Some of us two or even three time that actually.

All that said as easy as it is for people to say "do your own thing and fuck everybody else." The OP is the one that has to live with them and is the only one that can decide if he wants to listen or if it will create more issues than it is worth.

My wife was just upset that I got a newer car than hers...

My FRS was the first time I ever had a newer car than her. That only lasted for 3 years and she trumped me once again.

Another interesting coincidence... same is true here. My FR-S is the first car I'VE ever had that was newer than your wife ... <rim shot>..

No, really.. it's the first car I've ever owned that was newer than whatever my wife was currently driving. Hopefully, it'll stay that way for the next couple years, too; I've got too much money invested in renovating her ML500 for her to think about retiring it anytime soon. Fortunately, she loves it.

Why do small chicks seem to require huge SUVs?!?!? Somebody 'splain that to me?

All 110 pounds of my girlfriend loves driving my truck. Which I don't get. She's so small she can barely see out of it.

Took me 12 years through 4 SUVs to convince her that she needed something smaller. Now she is overjoyed.

I had bought her a 2004 SUV that she had wanted when I bought an 87 toyota pickup and my only other car was a 95 mustang gt.

Then when she ran that suv without oil and the engine went kaplooey, I bought her a 2006 van, then a few years later, I needed a vehicle because my nephew had borrowed my truck and then sold it (long story) and I had sold my mustang.

I started working as an IT director for a dealership auto group, so I used my discount to buy my frs.

Maybe ...... just maybe ....... for a similar reason as to why some men with small penises, seem to require large, jacked up pickup trucks ......

She liked the colour and nobody made an SUV the same shade so it was an easy sell.
I wish I was joking there but it is the truth.

Her priorities:
Colour
Leather
Gadgets (she won't use)
Hatch
Everything else

One of my coworkers is 4'10" tall, weighs maybe 100lbs and drives a F250HD 4x4. She does have an excuse, she also owns a horse farm and trailers a six horse trailer on the weekends.

Still, from a distance it looks like somebody's kid stole their truck for a joyride.
