Fact is, unless you're getting the white-glove LFA delivery treatment, all cars are probably getting abused along the delivery pipeline. If the repairs are done right you might not have ever noticed the issue for the life of the vehicle if no one told you. Sometimes ignorance is bliss?
To be honest, I probably wouldn't have ever noticed if it wasn't somehow brought to my attention that the car was repaired. But no thanks. I'm sure the majority of brand new cars haven't had their hood/grill replaced, so I'll take one of those.

Would've been funny if that happened to be the same car. I think the damage to the car I drove happened during transportation.

The Redding dealership has this beauty in stock. Only 4 hour drive from SF Bay Area.

thanks for the lead, but they are asking for $4995 markup. That's kind of ridiculous.

Does anyone know if Colma Subaru is marking this puppy up bad? I went to place a DP for a Premium BRZ, but no MSRP price was filled on the paper (500 is refundable though).

I'd rather not wait 5 months to have the price padded with market adjustments and other nonsense that would push me into a 30k+ car.

Thx!

FWIW I have called about 20 of the nearest Subaru dealers in the Bay Area over the last 3 weeks or so. Oddly enough Colma Subaru didn't come up in my search though. For the most part the outcome is either 1) they sold at MSRP and are now sold out for all 2012 allocations, or 2) they are marking up between $1K - $5K. At this point I think my best bets are in Reno, NV or Colorado Springs. Both are taking orders at MSRP and do not seem to have long waitlists. But like Blaine said, do your own research, I might be lying to you just to get a car sooner than you. Yeah, give up now and get a Gen Coupe or 370Z.

I called like a zillion dealers to find my FR-S, oddly enough I found it only 10 miles from home!!! I had to make a list of Scion/Subaru dealers so I could remember all the places to get my deposits back from.

Good info guys... What hassle would we have buying out of state? Additional tax, doc fees? This is my first new car purchase, so obviously this is hilarious to be on the hunt for the golden goose along with a few hundred like minded folks... The elusive dark blue manual BRZ/FRS will be mine!!!!

I know that you would still be taxed at the California tax rate of where you live. Doc fee might be different.

Some states have a reciprocity agreement where you pay the tax in one state and it counts towards the other states taxes
