And lots of people will pay > 30k for a bolt on OEM STI (you know it's true). So this whole line of concern is pointless.

And in the end, it's still a POS Focus. Same crap on all the tuned up econoboxes that aren't on bespoke chassis. The entire car is a massive compromise.

Anyway, back to the pics, it's obviously the tS that they applied for a copywrite to. Now it remains to be seen if it's a true tS or watered down for USDM.

Why don't you simply state what model tire you think they are.

There's nothing jumping out to me that says they're not. Meanwhile, the shoulder blocks, bead and "2 outer/3 inner" tread pattern in the pics all are consistent Mich Primacy.

Look at the shape surrounding the MICHELIN lettering, it's not the same shape as the primacies. The tread pattern looks very close though. Are the primacies being updated so all Michelin performance tires have the same sidewall design, or are they PS4s? I can't tell, but maybe Subaru is tired of the Miata scooting past them off the line in every magazine comparison.

Why? I'm not the one that jumped to conclusions...

But I'll bite. The last shot in the article pretty clearly peg them as MPSS's. The sidewall isn't heavily ridged like the Primacys, but smooth like the MPSS. The radial groove closest to the outside is straight and not wavy like the Primacys. Not to mention the wheels are the STI wheels, which the JDM version is larger diameter and wider (to clear the brakes) which wouldn't allow a stock Primacy to mount. USDM version of those wheels (Series.Blue) are original stock dimensions and won't clear the Brembos without spacers.
