MAJOR PROBLEM WITH MY NEW 2017 BRZ!!!! HELP!

So a short background, I just got my 2017 Subaru BRZ Limited Inazuma edition a month ago, and the car just reached 1000 miles last weekend. I've owned 7 other manual transmission cars, and have never experienced anything like this before. The first 1000 miles, I took it real easy until maybe around 800 miles which I would just hit 5-6000 rpms from time to time. I also just got an oil change last weekend as well after I reached the 1000 mile threshold. Anyways, today I went out for a drive, and noticed that the car was making some weird grinding/vibration/drilling noise anytime the car reaches 5,000 RPMs or greater between gears 2,3,4. Can someone help me pinpoint the issue or help get me in the right direction? I just posted a new video not too long ago to show you the problem. You can fast forward to :07-:13 to hear the problem I'm talking about. Thank you in advance.

Check your oil level as you may have too much

I have a 17 BRZ as well, this is why I got the new" with warranty. You should'nt be hitting 6000 rpm during break-in. Period. I cant hear the noise in your video, but you are driving it like you stole it. I suppose you damaged something in the engine or transmission. If you wanted 400hp, you should have bought a car with 400hp.
Not trying to be rude.
Atleast you have the new warranty to fall back on.
Also from some research I found it takes near 10k km to fully break in all the powertrain components.

All I'm hearing is noise from the sound tube and the intake whoosh. Nothing ominous

I did, it looks like it is above the 2 dots and not in the middle but my question is, how does having too much oil make the engine/motor sound like its grinding? I'm just trying to learn so this mistake doesn't happen again.

Well. Thats some of the dumbest forum commentary I have ever read. He said he waited until 1000 miles before driving hard and cars nowadays don't generally have a "break in" period according to most manufacturers. Also.... gotta wring this lazy motor out to get any hope of power out of it, so... I think it looks like he is just driving it lol.

OP. Delete the video. Take the car to the dealer.

Although I don't hear anything.... these motors are very noisy up top.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, got me a fan!

P.s. If thats how you drive a $40,000 sportscar ten minutes after you pass the "suggested break-in" you have more money than brains.

Yep, just take it to your closest dealer and ask to have a tech ride along with you.

I've owned a few new cars, and only on rare occasions enjoy going above the 4000 RPM during a break in period. I don't think it will damage a car unless im redlining through all the gears and consistently abusing it. My 1st car which was a Scion tC 2006, I def did not follow the rules and got well over 100k miles with no issues to the motor even though I didn't follow the first 1000 mile rule. With this car, I def treated it like a baby til around 800 miles, then I would occasionally shift gears at higher rpms in 1st and 2nd.

How far above?

Too much oil will give you higher oil pressures and can damage the motor

Again... The car is under warranty. Instead of letting the internet listen to a youtube video and diagnose your car for you, just go get it fixed for free. That's what the warranty is for
