4-on-the-floor 1969 VW bus is what the O.P. described. Perhaps too much beer and he got in the wrong vehicle? My '13 FRS is the tightest, clearest manual I've ever driven, including 3-series BMW, Fiat Spiders, '76 MG, '92 Miata, '93 Celica, '72 B210, Dodge Omni (EWwwwww), Ford E150 (also 4 on floor), '82 VW Rabbit, '88 Sentra, a host of U-Haul manual moving trucks back in the day, and yes, '69 VW bus.
Yeah... get that puppy checked out at the dealership...
