Considered this kit for years but it was bottom priority on my mod list and I just recently reached the bottom. I got the Subaru blue kit. More expensive than generic kits on Amazon but you end up with something that doesn't look or feel like a hack job. Provided parts and clear instructions make for a very OEM quality installation. Adds a subtle hue, not dim but not bright and overbearing. No regrets.

I always assumed the OEM one was just some LED strip. Can either of you show pics of it? The actual LEDs installed, not just the lit up footwell.

Mine is a generic LED strip stuck on by 3M double sided tape and plugged in via cigarette lighter adapter in the glove box. Adjustable brightness and all wires hidden so unless you stick your head inside the foot well, you can't tell it's just stuck on LED strips. Haha. I got mine set to a brightness that's noticeable but not so bright to distract night time driving.

It was also cheap enough that if I get sick of it I can just go out and by another color, likely red if I ever change it up. Probably not though as I like my blue lights. I also have the lights running to the rear footwell area but considering my seats are almost all the way back and people rarely sit in my back seat, that part was kind of an unseen mod. Lol

Do you have a link to where you bought these and approximately how much they cost at the time? Looks clean.

I have the OEM Red illumination kit. I got it for $98. Its adds a nice touch to the car. I have never had blue interior lighting, but from what I have been told it is not easy on the eyes at night in comparison to the red light. But blue interior lighting is nice!

Late reply, sorry didn't see the notification until now. Lol. I don't have a link as I got these on a Japan trip last year when I stopped by Super Autobacs. I don't remember the brand, something like planet star (I tossed the box a long time ago). They were around $20-25 USD.

Mine is Blue but I wish it was red. It came installed on my 17 series yellow. Regardless of the color I think it gives the cabin a nice extra touch.

I love the 90s BMW orange lighting of the center console. I feel like this light might ruin it.

Mine came with the car (dealer upgrade) but I don't really care for the blue lighting.

Mine has the blue - came that way. I hardly ever even notice it as I am looking out the window. That said Every single passenger I have had thinks that they are cool.

I completely agree. My 2005 MDX has a blue tint - never thought much of it. OP. Save yourself 100 bucks. Red > blue at least, if you must.

The inside of the car is way too dark. It needs needs this added lighting in my opinion.
That being said, I installed a RGB one from Amazon for $20. I switch it to red when I want to stay low key... or you could turn them off i suppose.

Just do it... and turn it off if end up hating it.
