You know it's not like the manual says...

Use Regular Unleaded - but if you want the most performance use Premium.

It says use Premium. OK? Can me move on?

OK, SO WHAT IF YOU'RE NOT A CHEAP BASTARD AND YOU WANT TO PUT THE BEST GAS IN, BUT YOU LIVE IN CA AND YOU CAN'T GET MORE THAN 91??? NO ONE HAS YET ANSWERED THE QUESTION OF (or I missed it) WHAT DO YOU ADD TO 91 OCTANE?

Buddy there's nothing wrong to get it tuned for regular. Genesis coupe can be both regular or premium and it's still a good track car.

91 octane is the minimum requirement for FR-S.
If you really want to bump it more look for some octane boosters, dunno how that fares.
I was thinking about it but changed my mind on trying

Buddy, if that's your belief go for it! If you want to run low octane in a high compression motor that's your choice...

Common, store bought, octane boosters add a few points. Ie, 91 + .1 , .2, .3... You'll end up with 91.1, 91.2, 91.3. NOT 92, 93, 94... They are tenths..

As you said though, 91 is the minimum. I was told by a tech on the fr-s (not a shop tech) that we shouldn't recommend less as the knock/retard of timing/det. isn't what you'd expect

Because it actually has torque down low.
