New member - Just purchased a 2013

Ive been viewing the forums as a guest for a month now and just picked up a 2013 FR-S

Until late last year I had been using an old audi (that I beaten to death rallying) with as my daily while building a separate vehicle (2007 Corvette) as a street registered time attack car for hillclimb events (whenever I can finish the darned thing).

Of course the second I decided to build the entire vette body in carbon, the cylinder head blew on the audi and the gearbox was already on its way out with 4th and 5th shot so I was left with a vehicle worth less than the parts required to fix it - so it went off to donation for a good cause.

After 8 months of sharing my GFs Rav4 to get to work, its nice to finally be in a proper rwd car (even if its only 200 hp).

And so begins the snowball of mods...

As with all cars that you intend to keep stock, after week 1 I'm ordering a Beastronix unit to disable all the fluff along with new autox pads and hi temp fluid...

Until I get the Beastronix unit, how the heck to I actually do the pedal dance or is this a joke? I cant for the life of me get it right. Do you leave the handbrake up when you start doing the pedal brake sequence? Do you leave the pedal down when you go back to doing the handbrake sequence? Or does the moon just need to align with the sun while holding a rabbits foot and a burning hundred dollar bill thats been soaked in snake blood?

In the interest of not asking a whole bunch of other questions that have been answered 1000 times, are there any definite go to resources for info on this car other than this site and are there any preferred vendors to be dealing with in the frs/brz community?

I look forward to many years with the forum!

Thanks!

Hello HoonThis and welcome to ......The Forum .......

That's a fine looking car ....... to be messen up with mods .......

Only 200 HP ....... yep, but you can "fix" that ......

About the pedal dance thing ....... I don't know how to do it ...... cause I need all the help from the nannys that I can get ......

However, you could do a search or wait till someone comes along to explain it.

hah thanks for the replies!

I finally got the pd mode to work during my lunch break today, all the while getting to listen to the fuel pump chirp like crazy with the hot weather; man I love learning new problems about a car I just bought!

My name is Kevin and I purchased a 2013 Scion FRS this winter. 25,000 mms, tuned titanium exhaust, cold air intake and a 300 watt amp included. I have just finished personalizing it except for the Oracle plasma halos. Wish I could add some pics. Anyone have advice on the Halo lights?

Crickets just add character. Years from now some car show host will pine about how unique it sounded at a stop light.

Hi guys, I'm Matt! I got a 2017 WRB BRZ Limited with the Performance Package back in late February but I'm finally here on the forums! I absolutely love this car to death and plan on doing some minor mods here and there until the warranty is up and I can afford to do more expensive modifications.

It's kind of funny how things worked out. I had seen the twins come out for the first time back when they were released, when I was on an IT career pathway. Back then, I knew I liked the car but I wasn't into cars enough to really care about getting anything other than a beater Civic or something. Fast forward several years and here we are - I'm learning what it takes to continue down the automotive pathway and I learned what I really wanted out of a car. When I heard about the '17MY refresh in addition to the BRZ's offered Performance Package, I knew I had to go for it. I was bugging a friend for every couple of weeks for several months about it and when it arrived, I was absolutely ecstatic.

So far, I've only really removed the clutch helper spring for a better feel, and I love it so far. I have an exhaust coming in within the next few weeks to give my car a more pleasing sound, and I plan on getting headers to mitigate that nasty torque dip. That's about it so far, though!

Thank you for reading, I'm glad to be here and hope we can get along!

New guy from the Great Lakes State. Early midlife crisis deal...lots of kids, lots of work travel, lots of being alone in a car (LOL)...Decided to make that more enjoyable. My Father's Day gift is a used '13 FR-S.

I think I got a good deal. 32k miles, full dealership service records, $15,000. Great shape in and out. It's an AT, but coming from a fullsize trucks and a Subaru Outbacks, I doubt I'll notice!

I pick it up tomorrow. Amped.

Hey guys, I'm Brian. I just bought a 2013 FRS base model on Saturday and I love it, it's everything I hoped it would be lol.
It's a 6 speed with 56,000 miles on it. As of right now it's bone stock but I plan to do a few simple/tasteful modifications. Probably exhaust and eventually wheels. Nothing too crazy.

Here's some pics:
