Total numbers quoted are correct. Time frame depended on dealer sales so far.

Scenario 1:
So if your dealer has not a lot of orders you'll get yours quicker, as in "every dealer gets 2 cars allocation per shipment".

Example:
Country dealer gets allocation of 1 per month. because nobody else except person A buys from them. His order on 18th of june will be fulfilled in the next month, because the country dealer can request for his order to match the 1 car they are allocated.

OR

Scenario 2:
After the initial shipment, its first come first serve for dealers, and allocation is based purely on your place in the queue.

Example:
Country dealer puts order in on 18th of june for person A. this will not be fulfilled until September because there are 100 other orders before him for that spec. City dealer has 5 orders on the 17th of june of the same spec, he will get them all before the country dealer does?

Monty, would the next shipment of cars be completely matching the orders placed by dealers? I.e all ~250 cars will already have owners waiting for them. Or like above, Toyota just says we're gonna build 50/50 split, if you dealers have ones nobody wants then tough, wait till next month? Id assume the most efficient way would be build to order everything?

I really can't speculate on how it works right now.

100% - Can't comment on specific dealerships without knowing the situation but Toyota has a fair share policy (I wont bore you with the detail) and the amount of customer orders they have has absolutely no impact on allocation.

There are ALOT of dodgy salespeople out there at the moment that are not quite as honest as they make out to be, telling customers of incorrect delivery times to 'lock in' sales. I know of one salesman at a perth dealership who is still telling his customers that there is only a 6-8month wait so sign up now, knowing full well that the dealership he works at has orders booked out with deposits till may/june next year.
I feel for the dealership that experiences the backlash from customers when they come to get their 86's in 6months....

If anyone wants a 'cheap' black GT manual, there is a private seller in Vic willing to let one go for 32,900.

If I was in Vic I might be tempted "

Oh yeah, Carsales

There are still GT's sitting in dealers to pick up, I'd stay away from private sales for now (no point adding an extra owner to your car).

Sound like someone lied to the other half about the car they were getting.

"Of course it will fit the kids and shopping. No, its not a sports car, it just looks like one in the pictures. Its the lighting they used."

No shit, but for which market? Japan already has long wait time, due to low allocation numbers.

Australia got allocated 1500 cars, Indo got 75, Phillipines got 80, etc....
