Not trying to prove anything. The mods I made to my car worked in the way I expected for the reasons I expected. Just contributing that info to this community.

I thought you were trying to say the BRZ was quicker around a circuit than an FR-S, because of its propensity to understeer?
Yeah, right here.

From an engineering perspective that is a deficiency. From a fun to drive aspect that depends on what you're looking for. Clearly, Top Gear decided to spice up their celebrity drive a little. You may note the number of offs has substantially increased. Also, the car is now fitted with a proper roll cage. The Liana, Laceti, Hyundai/Kia ((Cee'd), and Vauxhall Astra were box stock. That tells you something.

Lap times also illuminate the issue. The only celebrity to have driven both the Liana and the GT86 is Jay Kay, who is a good enough wheelman to have driven at Le Mans, and he cut 13 seconds off the lap time. He also went off learning how to do so. Note the other less talented celebrities don't do much better in the GT86 than in the fwd predecessors. David tenant only knocks 4 seconds off his time in the Lacetti which was a car that is nearly 9 seconds slower than the GT86 when driven by a more skilled celeb.

Everybody who modifies this chassis moves roll stiffness to the front axle, even Subaru. That makes the car quicker.
Yet 5 out of 7 examples you posted to back up your claim prove the contrary.

Exactly. An now he's saying making the BRZ understeer less will make it faster.

Nope. I am saying increasing understeer will make the BRZ faster. That's what the factory just did.

You understand statistics I assume?

Draw your own conclusions. I've drawn mine. One of us may be wrong but it won't be me.

But it doesn't. Look at the lap times by the same driver on the same track on the same day: Pobst.

Read it again. It's not from the same day.
And Pobst isn't the be all end all authority. I watched him launch an R35 GTR off the side of Pikes Peak, before even getting above the tree line.

This thread went south. Dragging Pobst into it now as a less than top notch driver? Shameful....

It went off topic right away.

I thought the first post was right on topic.

I also thought the whole community would be pretty interested that Top Gear chose "our" car to showcase. I know I am.

What better way to see how good this car can be for all drivers regardless of ability.

I really hope we get to see some real racing drivers demonstrate what a really good car the bone stock BRZ really is. Imagine Vettel, Hamilton or Ricciardo getting lap times down to 1:30.

That's a bit disappointing but really when does the weather change at Willow?

As for going off as some kind of critique of a hot driver, really? How else do you find the limits?

You are a piece of work. But to answer your question there's a potential for over 100 degrees difference in ambient temperature. 10 degrees makes a difference, let alone 50 if you hit the track in January vs. July.
