Having trouble making my decision

I have about a grand to spend so I'm stuck. I wan't to lower my BRZ about 1-inch soo I thought I would ask some people that have them. My three choices are 1- Tein Flex-a coilovers 2. Meister R coilovers 3. Koni yellows with RCE yellow springs. I do drive it to work a lot but I have a toyota pickup to drive too. I don't know if I will ever race it but I live atop a big mountain so any time I go to anywhere it's about like driving a mini tail of the dragon.

Check locally and see if you can get a ride in a car with one of those setups. Otherwise you'll just get people defending their personal choices and vendors pushing product. Very few have tested multiple suspension setups even briefly.

Given that you're on a budget it sounds like the most trouble free setup will be attractive to you, imo that would be koni/rce. Some people don't like koni, others love them, same can be said for just about any option.

The multitude of conflicting responses you will get to that question will probably be more confusing than just picking one.

because the one guy I know around here (there are only three moded FRS-BRZ's) that changed his springs (Eibach sportlines) hates it. the other one I know has his Stanced out. looks like he has -10 deg camber in the back, I laugh at him every time i see him. In total there maybe 8 FRS-BRZ's around me.

I wish someone would sell some Koni yellows already put together with Top hats and springs. Then if I sell the car I can throw the OEM's back on.

RCE+Koni will probably out perform any budget coilover.

Just my opinion but I'd prefer Bilstein B6 over the Konis, unless you auto-x. The ride is just a little better on the Bilsteins. Both are good though.

I know you like the B6's but I'm not going to go though the trouble of changing the suspension out and still have Zero adjustability.

Are you looking for adjustability just to have it? Or do you have specific goals in mind? Only asking because a lot of people run (myself included) RCE yellows on the stock struts and have no complaints. If you want a bit of camber up front, you can get SPC camber bolts for ~ 25 bucks and they are good for about -2*. Plenty for a street car.

I've had two sets of coil overs and one set of springs. Ultimately switched to springs for ease of use. I found that with adjustable suspension, I'd be under the car or under the hood constantly adjusting ride height and damping settings just because I could. Now, I have springs, camber bolts and adjustable top hats. The only time I touched them was during install.

Very happy with my springs, S Techs. Though not as comfy as stock, they're much lower and minimal wheel gap looks great. Plus it's great to know that when my stock struts bite the dust, I can find a set here to replace them for about 200 bucks.

No I don't want them because they have pretty dials on them. At one time I raced Motocross even went pro for about 2yrs till I came up short on a triple and the guy in second ran over my legs. soo much for the big time. But I do know A thing or two about suspension setup and the damm struts on the front have WAY to much rebound bounce bounce every damm bump. If i could adjust them I would. Why I wan't to have adjustable suspension.

Been sitting on Hotchkis springs for about 8 months now. My drive to work sucks and it's filled with speed bumps and pot holes but I still have no issues with the ride quality. Driving the car the day after they were installed I felt no noticeable difference from stock.

There's no reason to spend a grand on stancing if you don't need to. That's like saying "I spent $800 on an adjustable wing because it looks cool and #downforcebro". Lowering springs are the best, cheapest option if you're only looking to drop a bit. Any more than an inch and you're pretty much sacrificing function for style.

Edit: After reading your latest reply, I agree with you about the front struts. Feels like I'm in a bouncy house sometimes coming off a speed bump.
