What a time to be alive.
I enjoyed watching Reboot with the kids in 94. They grew out of it though and I looked silly watching by myself.

No, I always expected 2017 to be more Mad Max than Reboot.

Cletus needs a new wrench...

Had my car in the shop for some scheduled service...

After I left the dealership and as I got on the freeway I heard a loud, metallic bang from the rear of the car and I see a shiny chrome object bouncing on the road behind me...

Quick inspection and all appears fine- but I wonder how much that technician spends on tools!

I can't slam him as I have done the same at least 20 times over the decades. Mind you, it was a treat when you opened the hood 2 weeks after working on the car to find the expensive ratchet you were using still right where you left it sitting on top of the breather cover.

Nope. Still made in USA. They do make some stuff in Sweden but not sure if they import any of it.

That whole Y2K end of civilization as we know it didn't pan out, did it? I actually went to a children's birthday party and one of the other parents was bragging about how prepared they were- pulled all their money out of stocks, 401k, etc and converted to cash and stockpiled food. Had to resist the urge to tell them the real computer apocalypse is in 2023.

P.S. Mac tools FTW

I don't think I've ever forgotten a tool in the engine bay, but most recently when I installed my springs, I forgot to tighten a bolt on the lower control arm, and things got a bit squirrelly about 50 meters down the road.

Also, my tool brand of choice is whatever is in my dad's garage, or whatever is on sale at Canadian Tire. Even the tools work reimburses for me are pretty low quality, cause I don't need a fancy name on them. I've come to the realization, that unless using tools every day is your bread and butter, Craftsman, or Maximum is the best brand you can buy. My dad has a Craftsman socket set on the wall that must be from the early 80's, and apart from missing some of the smaller sockets, and a bit of corrosion, they still work 100% fine.
