That'd be awesome! It looks like it actually does come with a small packet of anti-seize! So we'd just need the proper tool(s)!

These are the instructions for it: http://perrinperformance.com/attachment/337445-.pdf

Looks like we'd need a 19mm or 3/4" socket and a way to know how tight it is?

"Install Tow Hook Stem into threaded hole using 19mm or ¾” socket and tighten to roughly 50ft-lbs."

I'm usually not free right away at 5 but I'll let you know. I might actually be available around then tomorrow, if that would work?

Hahaha, fair point. But on the other hand, what's the phrase about how a good worker deserves their wages or something? If someone's going to help me out I should be able to do something, even small for them.

Seems like a pretty simple job. I don't own a torque wrench but 50 ft lbs isn't a whole lot, and unless you're doing lug nuts or engine parts, as long as it's tight and you check it in a few days, all is good.

Just let me know when you're free and we'll bust it out, shouldn't take more than a few minutes! And don't worry about paying in boba, save it for some tools

I meant you buy the tool and do it yourself

Heh, so camber bolts or tophat bolts just have to be hand tightened and then checked in a few days? Hey, it's not lug nuts or an engine part.

Don't mean to give you a hard time for your comment, but why does nobody value torquing things to spec anymore? Why does the manufacturer even bother specifying torque specs if "good n tight" is fine?

No hard time at all! I've been wrenching on cars since I was 15, (I'm 30), went to EVC automotive school, and worked in the industry for a while. I used to build and drift Nissan 240sx in a past life, and have ripped down and rebuilt many cars over the years. I'm not saying I am an expert, and I do use torque wrenches on things that are more sensitive (clutches, manifolds, things with gaskets, etc etc, this is what I meant by "engine parts")

I still have lot's of friends who work in the industry, and you'd be surprised how many shops, companies, dealerships, etc etc don't use a torque wrench on every single bolt. If you work in the industry, or wrench cars enough, you can gauge what you can and can get away with not using a torque wrench on. It is really necessary to torque everything to spec? Maybe, maybe not.

And most manufacturers give you a torque range, so even that is not exact, and torque wrench's can often go out of spec as well. There are tons of variables.

When I was a newbie in the car scene I thought everything needed to torque to spec or else I would die! Or the car would explode, but that's simply not the case. and I'm not trying to sway your opinion one way or the next, and i'm not offended or even mad, and i'm not trying to come off as a know at all, cause I'm actually a really humble guy. If you feel more comfortable torquing everything to spec, that's fine. To each his own!

I actually wouldn't be surprised, a friend of mine has worked as a tech for Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus and he always laughs and gives me a hard time anytime I bring up "torquing things to spec"

It just seems like such an easy thing to do, especially for a boutique shop or when you are DIY. It doesn't make sense to me to not do it, when you have the opportunity to do it.

It's totally an easy thing to do, and I'm actually pretty OCD about things too, but I sold off my torque wrenches and most of my nicer tools when I left the car scene 6 years ago, a socket wrench set and some screwdrivers are all I really have now

^This. Engineers have to spec out torque for various reasons: manufacturing, safety regulations, to meet quality standards, etc. Tech's use their real world experience generally know what is critical and what isn't, so they use their discretion to be more "efficient" at their job.

Do they have to be strictly followed? Eh, but they are already there, and somebody has already put the time and effort coming up with that number, so why not use it.

I'd sell my shitty tools way before my nicer ones. I still have tools from my grandpa and even inherited some from my father-in-law, some of which he inherited from his grand pa. My OCD also make me send my torque wrenches, calipers and gauges out to calibration every couple of years...
