It's absolutely incredible. I have yet to take it to the track, but it's going very soon.
The car isn't like any muscle car I've driven before, it feels very special.

The biggest issue with this car is that you can't find one in New York for sticker price. I got one from Texas in the color i want for sticker, but when you include the price of shipping, i practically paid over sticker, but still saved $5000.

The FRS will be up for sale soon, it'll be below $10k and most likely one of the cheapest cars on the market due to its high mileage.

I had a chance to drive one of these back in the fall and totally agree with this statement.
The handling and driving characteristics are someplace between muscle car and sports car. Not quite either but a bit of both all at the same time.
It was impressive.

Very surprised a brand new 2016 is still sitting in the showroom at a nearby dealership. No Track Package but a $7,000 discount.


Of interest, the offices of Hagan-Berman, states on their website that no retainer fee is necessary to get involved in the lawsuit. It looks like 2016 owners without the Track Package, could get a transmission cooler and upgraded differential parts installed for free. It looks like some 2016 owners could feel entitled to perhaps even more compensation when all the dust settles.

The fine lines of the law suit are interesting. Ford says you can track the GT350, unless it's a not track pack car.

Regardless, this lawsuit will change how car companies will advertise and handle their car for track use.

There will be no 2021 model year GT350

Just like the leaked product information indicated, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R won’t be returning in 2021. With the pair goes the 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8 and its exotic soundtrack. We asked Ford about this engine’s future, but were provided the standard, “no future product talk” response. So for the time being, Ford’s 8,250-rpm masterpiece has no home.

As a side, Ford let us loose for a day with the GT350 Heritage Edition last week when it delivered the sad news to us. You can read about that experience here.

Ford also provided the following statement on the discontinuation of the model:

“With the 760 horsepower Shelby GT500 now in full stride, we will finish production of Shelby GT350 and GT350R this fall as planned. This makes the way for new additions to excite our passionate Mustang fans for 2021 model year – including the limited-edition Mach 1.”

The 2021 replacement is the Mach 1, a car we haven’t driven yet, but have high hopes for. It steals a number of parts from the GT350, but the engine isn’t one of them. To be fair to Ford, this generation of Mustang probably isn’t long for the world anyway. The latest scoop from Automotive News about the next-gen Mustang pegs it as a 2022 reveal with 2023 being the first model year it’s available. Still, we’ll miss the GT350 in the 2021 and 2022 Mustang lineup.

Ford quietly and subtly updated the GT350 and GT350R over the years. Our most recent drive in the car was in the GT350R on track. Now we know that this updated (for 2020) GT350R only has one year of life in it, making it a serious catch if you find yourself lucky enough to own one.

With the GT350 and GT350R out of the picture, the uber-expensive and fast GT500 is the only Shelby-branded Mustang left in the lineup. Seeing as it’s still a new product, we imagine it’ll stick around right up until Ford calls it quits on this Mustang. For now, we bid the GT350 goodbye, and thank it for its delightful service.

Not really too much of a surprise, though - Ford hates doing warranty work and these voodoo engines haven't been the most reliable.

They also aren't competitive against their rivals which makes them an even less ideal buy.

Yea, very true. Probably a hard sell - sports car people might not buy since it still has that mustang stigma, but mustang people might not buy since it is not as fast as the competitors. I was hoping on getting one used some day but the lack of support and discontinuation makes me nervous.

It's more the 3850 lb. weight. Sports car people aren't generally interested in driving around in oversize/overweight tanks! I'd consider a *real* modern GT350 closer in size/weight to the original...

This is where I have the total opposite position. The Mustang has been a piece of crap for much of it's history. Yes there have been some good years and models but as a whole it has only survived on it's name based on those few. It really is coming into being a true sports car in the last gen though.
