Most of the electronics in cars are sourced from Asian countries

That is a far cry from what you said.
Much of the electronics in the car in question are ZF parts and come from Eastern European countries. There are of course the usual mix of parts that come from China, Malaysia, Taiwan and Japan as well though but that applies to every single car made around the world.

It's more about supporting a "local" economy. Largely the money stays in the US from "American" cars.

Much more money stays in America if they are actually made there though. Toyota pours more money into the US economy that Chrysler does now.

I actually was the bro in the come race me bro encounter the other week, lol.

We're all familiar with other cars revving at us at stop lights, so this time I was in the middle lane and a charger rolled up on my right and a v6 previous gen mustang on my left. Charger starts creeping a little which I took for a "lets race" gesture. So I'm sitting there like Paul Walker, light turns green I take off, then after I pass the over pass, step on it, only to look back and see the cars just coasting along

I was kinda like, huh... Oh well, this time, an fr-s "beat" a mustang and a charger lol.

Also had a Ford Taurus try and "catch" me on the same stretch of road. I actually lol'd when I saw that, it was just a stock taurus too.

I was driving the speed limit (35 mph) on a nearly empty 4-lane road checking fuel trims on a fresh tune when a modded Nissan GT-R cut in front of me. He slowed a bit, then floored it with his loud catless exhaust blaring, then slowed down again. For better or worse these cars still do attract attention I guess.

Race me bro

So I was at the E85 pump fueling up my shitbox and some bro in a Maserati Q4 pulls up waiting for me to finish pumping. I can smell the corn coming from his loud exhaust and this bro exits his vehicle has a conversation with me which goes along like this:

Bro: "Nice car bro, ayyyyyy you street race?"

Me: "Thanks, no I don't street race, I take it to the track. Autox more so."

Bro: "What's it run."

Me: "Well I'm not as experienced so I ran a 2:30"

The bros' face was confused because how do I do 2:30 in a quarter mile? I had a feeling when he asked track, he meant the drag strip track.

Bro: "So you don't street race, wanna race?"

Me:"I don't "street race. What do you do? Money or fun runs? Dig or roll?"

Bro: "I do whatever bro, for money no money, and for a dig, up to you. How much power you pushing?"

Me: "380 wheel"

He thinks about it for a bit

Bro: "My car is about 4200lbs, wanna run for $40?"

I make every excuse not to street race then bounce. He then gave me his number to hit him up when I am ready. P.S. I never gave him mine. LOL

It's the aesthetic design. One look and people automatically know it's for racing.

Was data-logging a 3rd gear pull on the highway and ripped past a brand-new BMW Z4 driving along slowly in the far right lane. He must have been on a test-drive since he had dealer plates on it. Didn't think much of it but as soon as I passed him, I saw him come out of his lane and floor it trying to catch up. I finished my 3rd gear pull and had backed off to about 70 mph when he flew up and then took the next exit off the highway. Not sure if he was hoping for a race or just wanted a better view of my car or what.

Some guy in a fourth gen Mustang pulled up next to me while I was on the freeway going back home. He had his GF in the passenger seat and they just kinda looked at me like they wanted to race... I just kinda cruised along at the speed limit til they went away.

I don't get why some guys need to feed their egos like that, especially when it's quota time and late at night. I'm all for having a good time where the only possible thing that could get hurt would be someone's ego, but come on, man.

I can't help but think about what would have happened if I did drop it into fourth gear or something, though. It was just straight freeway with no one else around, so it just teases my mind.
