Checked this morning; it's the flat one.

Sorry I didn't get to take some audio yet, but I'll try to get that tonight.

OK so it is the new one from some 16s ( the "RC" noted on the pic means rolling change so they started wit some of the 16 MY cars) and all 17s.

I'm thinking it's DI noise.

Well we obviously don't know when the rolling change started but pretty safe to guess it was well after yours was built!

Wondering if that is it. That noise still scares me sometimes even though I know what it is and should be well used to it by now.
There have been a couple of other guys with 17s that said they chirp though.

I'd like to hear audio, those DI's are under high pressure, but don't know how much at idle.

Here's a video of it. Certainly sounds like the crickets to me.

I'm sure other will chime in but that sounds like the DI tick not chirps to me. IMHO

Here is my audio pre-TSB October 2016

So I hear the DI tick, that doesn't bother me, but I definitely feel like I hear chirping in the background also. My girlfriend even commented on it the other day before I even mentioned it.

It's not as loud or pronounced as yours was in your audio, but maybe take another listen?

Wait until it gets warmer up there. I'm down in San Antonio, TX. The other day we hit about 75ish in the morning when I did a ride along in a 2017 with a tech. It chirped. Not as loud as the previous gen, but it was present.

I can also hear a faint chirp behind the DI and other boxer noises.

Along those lines, I had my fuel pump replaced via the TSB in November. The car was stored most of the winter and has had about 3000 miles put on it in the past two months. 3400 since the TSB. I started hearing the crickets again yesterday, and again today after a 15 minute drive to work. 56 degrees out and damp. Only use 93 octane gasoline from Exxon or Shell. The noise is a lot more muffled than it was on the old pump, but it is identical in tone.
