I keep phones for at least a year. Don't pay for a plan, and the phones I buy tend to hold value.

I have to actively pay attention to what I am doing to even discuss the act of shifting on here. Couldn't tell you what the tach says for each of my shifts since I never ever even look at it and my shift points vary with the type of driving I am doing at that point anyway. It might as well not exist for all I use it for driving. I just drive with no more thought given to shifting than I give to braking or steering.

After starting to shift things at 5 years old, and doing it for 68 years, it just comes ...... naturally ......

(except when I sometimes kill it when starting off, or try to start off in 3rd gear, or when I try to shift into 4th, when I'm in 5th heading for 6th, or ..... or ....... ya know, maybe I should activate that sissy gear indicator thing .......)

Hell, even after driving my previous car (5mt) for almost two years it became second nature. Didn't think about anything unless I was in traffic, then I just thought about my burning ankle.

An exception might be the US Army, during the draft ......

One soldier might have a PhD and the soldier beside him might not have sense enough to pound sand in a rat hole ....... I only had one man in my command that I couldn't make a soldier out of ...... (story upon request) .....
