It's so easy it wasn't even worth documenting or even putting in the DIY section. Here's the rundown: Order Subaru part #H701SCA000 RED or H701SCA100 BLUE Plug: Order them from Reeves Subaru Parts Online $132.56 free shipping over $100. The best you'll do is $4 cheaper but everybody charges about $14 extra for shipping. Kit consists of two LED small oval pods (with double sided tape) that connect to a jumper, six foam adhesive squares, four small screws to screw down the pods to the mounting points under the dashboard. You're supposed to disconnect the battery to prevent short circuits 1. Remove trim piece around head unit (I used a flat head with the tip covered in masking tape to prevent scratching. 2. Remove head unit -it's held in place by four 10mm bolts the top two are easy to reach but the bottom two are recessed about an inch (they can fall down). 3. Pull out head unit carefully (not much slack) and 5-6 (depending if you have navi) connectors must be squeezed and pulled out. 4. Locate wiring harness that goes to the alarm clock/hazard light button assembly then disconnect it. 5. Plug in the jumper between the alarm clock/hazard light button panel and the harness from step 4 and route the two long wires down behind the console on either side. 6. Wire tie the cables behind the radio, wrap the foam adhesive around the connection between the wiring hardness and light kit's jumper (you don't want that rattling around). 7. Plug the lights' connectors to the cables and wrap them with adhesive too. 8. Peel the tape from the pods and stick them under the bottom edge of the dashboard (clean the area with alcohol first!) and use the included screws to permanently secure them. 9. Tidy up your slack wire and wire tires, reconnect your headunit's connections (remember not much slack back there -small hands would be helpful and keep in mind your metal headunit can scratch the crap out of your plastic interior). 10. Put headunit back in, bolt it down, reconnect the car battery then turn on headlights. If all is well they will light up and you can put the headunit trim back on. If not is all well make sure your connections are tight, headlights turned on, fuses ok, and battery is reconnected. All connectors only fit in one direction and they're different sizes <-this is so easy I can't picture anybody screwing it up. Here are the official directions: http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/inst...H701SCA100.pdf If you need pics of the placement of the LEDs tell me (thankfully the instructions included measurements because the drawings were so-so). Finally got my Beatrush gold painted Essex harness bar back today... the color match is pretty spot on.
I wanted to incorporate some of my engine bay color theme into my interior... I think this will do the trick. I also had the side plates that hold the Bride seats to the rails painted Beatrush gold. ![]() ![]() Hope to have installed pics soon... __________________________________________ projekt zeal86 build zeal.eightsix Facebook Instagram @zeal.eightsix |

Cleaned and conditioned the leather parts in my FR-S since I haven't done those in a long time.
