Black must be popular. My wife spotted one exiting the M1 at Jct30 last night.

I still have sewer grapes over mine not coming any time soon. On the plus side I can take a demo car for a test drive and a proper good thrashing withotu worrying about break in period (not that I think it would make any difference)

4 days in and I'm even more convinced that if you buy the Toyota, it is just a rebadged Subaru

I had a sit in a pearl white GT86 demonstrator at toyota dealership in preston today, got to fire up the engine but the test drive will have to wait for another day. No GT86 badge on the boot though. They said they are also expecting an orange showroom car shortly which I can't wait to see.

This 'some have a badge, some don't' business is getting weird...

Saw the demo car at Pentagon Doncaster yesterday - blue (no badge) also sat in the car. I can honestly say I find nothing about the car a let down. It is solid, well made the doors are fantastic - never mind "sounds like a golf" the wifes got a golf and the doors sound nothing like one - so solid and precise. Inside it fits like a glove without being claustrophobic there is space and i'm 6ft. Engine bay - plenty of room for future expansion - underneath the car is well thought out stainless steel exhaust. Petrol advised is 98 ron so I suppose V - Power will give that extra zing at 99 ron. Quality of interior high. We both were smiling all day about seeing it - for 25k you are getting a lot for your money - was worried about it not standing up next to an Audi TT or SLK - no need it outshines both of them and makes them look overpriced - lets face it those customers are more interested about driving the name than a dedicated sportscar. - 10/10 Toyota/Subaru - Money well spent.

Toyota UK website finally has a full brochure available for download replacing the preview brochure that's been there for age. Plenty of images showing the boot badge

Hi All,

I drove a GT86 at my local dealer on Saturday. Really liked the car, impressed with the quality having had concerns that it might not feel worth the £25k+ being asked for it. Managed to squeeze two kids in the back so have basic approval from the misses to continue!

Handling was great, engine torque felt lacking coming from a turbo charged hatchback (GTI) but there was reasonable top end poke and i liked the noise. Full road test in Autocar this week so interested to see what they get numbers wise. Felt similar in go to a 197 Clio/Civic Type R.

Reckoned deliveries for orders places now would be in August which seemed optimistic, oh no badge!

The brochure describes the engine as '4 in line'
